Looking for a Book

I’m trying to find the perfect book for my girlfriend for her birthday. I’m looking for a book about cancer that lists all the kinds and causes of each. Any suggestions?

That sounds like a wonderful birthday gift.

Dare I say that even if your girlfriend is unfortunate enough to be a sufferer of cancer, I would hardly call this an uplifting book.

If you’re determined to thrill her with a book on cancer, I reckon you’ll get far better suggestions by using Google.

Sweet idea dude, for our anniversary I got my girlfriend a book on the holocaust written in hebrew, she loved it.

Might I suggest a “choose your own adventure” book about sexually transmitted infections?

perhaps I should elaborate a little. She’s pre-med with a very strong interest in becoming a surgical oncologist and she actually asked for this very thing a few months ago.

I browsed around on amazon a bit but was unable to formulate a search that gave me the right kind of book because there is a VAST number of books about cancer and all its different aspects.

Just a suggestion, but go with Dr. Seuss’s “One Itch, Two Itch, Red Dick, Blue Tit”

Why dont you just get cancer? Thats even better

ROFL

hard to put cancer in a box…without labeling it as bio-hazardous material and that just gives it away.

Dude don’t leave us hanging, are you still sleeping on the couch after you gave her the best birthday present ever?

DAMMIT!!! Why did you explain this so early in the thread? This could have gone at least 5 pages of ‘alternate gifts’…

Hell, if we can go at least 8 pages of Professor X-isms and double that trying to kill a thread, this would have been a walk in the park!

I agree, this thread had so much potential, but he had to go fuck that up just like he did his Girls birthday.

What a complete disaster. I can’t even believe I wasted the time coming up with that “choose your own adventure” joke.

That’s three and a half hours I’ll never get back.

The Magic Mountain, Mann
The Death of Ivan Ilich, Tolstoy

And one can only hope that, if she is lucky enough to make the decision, she will decide otherwise.

Trust me.
