I’ve just learnt a 16 year old girl beating by the police during the peaceful protest sparked the riots.

Where are you getting that info from DN?
Haven’t seen any mention of that anywere.
Yeah exactly, havent heard that mentioned at all. There is so much bullshit being spread, i dont know what to believe. Im pretty sure that would be being mentioned all over the place.
Pretty sure thats bullshit.
Well with the way the riots caused chaos in London, the media probably didn’t want to cover this story. The riots needed more coverage.

Some news online. Some sources said she approached them to ask for answers, others said she threw a rock at them and was set upon by up to 15 cops. I’ve got the feelings the UK media kept it pretty quiet to give the police a break.

i did see that stated on the BBC live updates on Sunday to be fair. She threw a stone at the police and they walloped her, then everyone went mental.
Well I’ve missed that. I couldn’t understand why everything went so out of control just for the sake of a dead gang member.
So what? Are girls above the law now? If she threw a rock (to be seen), she deserves the beating, girl or not.
I agree that gender doesn’t matter when you’re a trouble maker. But did she deserve to be beaten by up to 15 cops at a time? Even if that was a man, I would cringe.

Are you seriously okay with that shit?
Depends. 15 on a girl? Too much. But to be honest, she shouldn’t be throwing rocks at the authority.
From BBC live text updates :
" 0909:
A 16-year-old looter from Manchester tells BBC 5 live he will continue participating in the violence and theft until he gets caught, because it is his first offence and nothing will happen. "
@ Edevus: of course, that’s the mentality they have here. The juvenile centres are like hotels in the UK apparently. No wonder 16yo can get away with a slap on the shoulder.
As for the girl, yes she shouldn’t throw rocks. She gets kicked by a couple and gets arrested. Full stop. Just like a video I saw two days ago. A young boy got too close to the cops line and got knocked out by 2 or 3. They dragged him out of the throwing missiles and handcuffed him. That was it. Done.
Now setting upon on someone like they are an animal is fucking sick. No wonder the kids went fucking crazy.

thanks - will read that when I get chance, I think these riots that are occuring have nothing to do with any stance on welfare/ politics etc etc
it’s purely lootings - rival gangs are tagging shops, or were in london…its just a competition.
Yes of course. I heard of that too. I wonder whether the sales of Widescreen TV, laptop and Mp3 players on Ebay had gone up or not…
I’m still stunned the Sony centre in Enfield is totally gone. And all those people who’ve lost their homes in Croydon… very sad…

I have a very hard time to side with these kids because they are doing this.
It’s not like the protests in Spain because there was zero damage done by them, just hands up protests, but these kids complaining about the rich people while they contact each other by their iPhones to go loot some TVs and phones is…
“Libyan foreign ministry spokesman Khalid Ka’im has called on world governments to take action over the unrest in the UK. David Cameron has lost legitimacy and “must go”, Libya’s official news agency Jana reports. Libya “demands that the international community not stand with arms folded in the face of this gross aggression against the rights of the British people, who are demanding its right to rule its country”, the report said.”

I really cannot see 15 police men, setting about a girl aged 16. Do you believe that?
EDIT: Didnt see the video with that annoying crow shouting ‘it’s a gurrrl’.
If she’s that close to the riot police then i have no sympathy for her. They treat everyone the same, quite rightly. If anyone approaches them, they beat them. Everyone knows this.
