London Riots

So…how did the police know those guys were doin somethin wrong?

Seems to me that that one guy saw the police, stopped, got off his bike, then had a cop smash him over the head.

Did I miss something?

Well, this is a turn around. Police may use water cannon and rubber bullets if they want to. It’s not PC to use water cannon and rubber bullets on anyone other than Catholics in Northern Ireland. Hasn’t anyone explained that to David Cameron?

Labour MP Harriet Harman blames rising ‘tuition fees’ and the closing of a job centre in her constituency for the riots.

‘But there is a sense that young people feel they are not being listened to…when you’ve got the trebling of tuition fees, they should think again about that. When you’ve got the EMA being taken away, when you’ve got jobs being cut and youth unemployment rising and they are shutting the job centre in Camberwell ? well you should think again about that because this is going to cost money. all of this does not help reduce the deficit.’

I fucking hate blaming all this on ‘the youth’ having no future.

I come from a poor family who worked bloody hard to keep a roof over our heads. I grew up in a rough part of south east london, on a council estate where crime occured daily. I did shit at school, for one reason or another (but thats another story), came out with next to nothing.

Did i blame it on other people? Did i blame it on the government?

No. I got a shit job, which i HATE, and have been saving for years so i can do my personal training course, whilst helping pay for my parents troubles.

There are jobs out there, look down the job centre. its just these cunts think they are better than that and its beneath them. Everyone owes them something. I have no respect for people with excuses.

Bottom line - Just get on with it, noone owes you anything in this world. If youre gonna sit in parks, getting stoned, wasting your life, dont blame it on other people.

Its upto to do something about it. I know I am.

Total bullshit.

Even if those jobs centres were open or tuition fees reduced, you’d still see kids setting fire on stuff. The people who did this were troublemakers and scum. Opportunities are given to them, they don’t have the sense to jump on them. They don’t want to work hard. They just want free stuff.

Great post.

Some kids quit school because they don’t want to study hard. There’re some great NVQ training courses out there that they could do if school bored them to death. But nah, they stay, home. Their parents allow them to stay home and hang out in the streets till late.

They have that fucking mentality of wanting to get rich quick. Ask them to look for a job and you get ‘meh, I don’t want to work in Mcds or Gregs. It sucks. Meh, they only pay me £4 an hour. That’s shitty money. I don’t want that!’ Stupid lazy motherfuckers.

I agree. I think these riots reflect very badly on the state of British society. The fact that so many middle class and even professionals were involved is a sign that something is seriously wrong.

meanwhile we’re all going to foot the bill once the damage is assesed!

I agree - to fuckin lazy to go out and get a job…

the way they look at it is they can either go and work for £5ph and have to save for 4 months so they can buy a brand new chavtastic diamonte covered iphone, or go rob someone, which is easier.

now anyone with an ounce of common decency or a shred of self respect would do the former, but of course these arseholes have neither, so they choose to rob someone.

I have no doubt some of these kids have had tough lives and shitty parents but i trully believe everyone knows right from wrong and they know full well what they’re doing and what impact it has on the community. They’re ripping apart they’re own towns/shops/community. Just brainless, emotionless fucking dickheads if you ask me! rant over…

Too right (both posts).

These kids think that life is unfair if they don’t have the latest Nike trainers (always pleading poverty but doing bugger all about it).

Having no drinking water is unfair

Having no roof over your head is unfair

Having to crap in an open sewer next to your house is unfair

Being shot dead because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time is unfair (not because you were “disrespected” by police who are over-whelmed by crime in the local area…I mean really, can you blame them for “discriminating” against and searching GANG members every month?! And these members have the cheek to complain about no respect shown to them??). They don’t know the meaning of respect.

And finally, having your whole livelihood torn away from you, or your life threatened (even though you served to protect the country) because some thugs behaving like spoilt kids felt it right to take out their issues on you…now that is unfair

Meanwhile, on the politics front - this video sums up the British way

In other order of things, Estonian Ministery of Defense has been attacked by an unknown entity and there are hostages.

I have to pass by there later, I will check out although there’s bomb alert.

HAHA! Hit the nail on the head my friend.

Very reminiscent of David Cameron and his condemning of the looters, what the hell will that do?! Also at the end of his speech when he said, if you excuse me, there is important work to be done…

Like sitting in no. 10 and having a cup of tea. Good cuppa solves everything.

Lovely…

Sitting here with a nice cuppa and a rich tea biccie right now.

Rioting, looting, setting stuff on fire? Bullshit! That’s our fucking job.

…and that’s just when the Lakers win.

When I first saw the footage on T.V it was crazy, like a 3rd world country. The police were pretty helpless, apparently they were only allowed to use the plastic bullets as a last resort, a last resort against some pricks breaking into shops and threatening shop owners, bit of a disgrace really.

It’s getting real bad out there…

I’m sorry, but it had to be seen…

I’ve seen this video quite many times today because I think it’s very funny, but I just realized something.
Don’t people drive on the left side at the UK? Look at how the cars are parked.
Not that it matters much, it’s still funny.
