They wouldn’t make less than minimum wage. They wouldn’t drown our schools - they would pay taxes to support them like everyone else. They wouldn’t have the same motivation to send money back to Mexico, because they wouldn’t have the same degree of separation from their families… they would have a motivation to set roots.
I’ve worked with and for a number of Mexicans (somewhere in the hundreds), and I can say from that experience and the experience of every person I have ever met who has worked with Mexicans, that their culture is steeped in the very values that our economy needs right now - Stoicism, hard work, persistence, thriftiness, saving…
Also, the history of Mexico and the economic disparity therein is far more complicated than to be chalked up to a collective inadequacy, as your first sentence implied.

Come to California, you will see why every single aspect you mention is pure FAIL.
You have MANY people here of Latino descent that are loyal to their native country, not the US. Many of these people do not assimilate for shit, almost half of the kids in schools do not even speak English. People say they come here to work, but they don’t. They breed, get sick, and get arrested. You are also adding to an already huge unemployment pool we have in the country. Think about it, the whole point they get low-balled is because they are illegal. Otherwise, labor laws would not allow such low wages. Do you know how many people in agriculture and construction I know that are suffering because of illegal aliens? And if you legalize them, you low ball THEM, the newly legalized aliens.
