Hello everyone,
i am finally gonna be getting back on TRT and I got my dock to prescribe Test E, Preglyn (no HCG to be found around me), and Anastrazole (SP?).
so primary reason of this post I am interested in prefilling syringes and keeping them stored for use. First concern, I read people will pre-fill for travel etc. I understand you would take the plunger off fill then put plunger back in.
With this method
-Is there a concern of sterility with the plunger while filling? Should I wipe the bottom with alcohol swab before putting back on?
- Is there any type of pins around that will “lock” so I dont have to worry about the plunger being pushed down inadvertently?
I’m reading some people use insulin needles, I used to use 18 to fill then 25 or 23 to inject (1.5inch). I have a large amount of body fat but am curious should I switch to .5 or 1 inch, what about using insulin needles, any added benefit to insulin syringes over the pin and syringe?
Thank you!
Hello
If it were me I would avoid pre-filling syringes. Why would you want to?
I have read of people that do it on here and I guess a better question why not. Every time I get ready to inject its a good 10-15 minute process. If I could spend around 20 minutes or so per-filling syringes then I will just need to focus on injection spot and sterilizing the area.
So while thinking through this I figured a cheaper method than attempting to source locking syringes. The binder clips you get in the office section of the store. Here I have the small size and it seems to be just shy of exactly .5ml on a 3ml syringe (if pressed to size of binder clip). Now I know you all may use smaller sizes not a problem!
Pul it up to where you want the plunger to be (perhaps leave small air pocket for “play or give”) then put the binder clip at the section of the plunger that meets the base. No idea the size of other plungers but you can either clip it too one of the 4 peices of plastic or try to put it around all 4. In doing so I was unable to make the plunger budge without using significant force (a locking one may have broken at this point anyway.
plan to “backfill” (draw with larger needle and empty contents into a syringe with plunger removed)my hcg and test syringes so its not as time intensive and ill only need to take precautions on injection area preparation. P.s. I do plan on setting the plunger on an alcohol swipe while back filling to avoid any contamination.
Hopefully this helps some people, I am very meticulous when I fill my syringes so I think doing a “mass” draw and pre-fill syringes will make it less stressful and time consuming
Thats a really good idea…!!
