not every human should be treated with kid gloves, but lowering yourself to a dickhead 14 year old’s level should be avoided.
if not for her sake then for yours.

someone mentioned all the comments about her are unclassy or something like that, and they hit the nail on the head.

theres tastefull jokes that are funny, wierd, a little insulting but still funny, and then theres dickhead.

i suppose you wouldnt get offended if it were your sister?

of course you would.

if this was my sister, i would be FUMING.

Optimist: That glass is half full
Pessimist: That glass is half empty
Realist: That glass is twice as big as it needs to be …

I’m a realist … and between you, me, and everyone else who’s gonna read this, ceteris paribus, if that were my sister I’d probably give her shit about it too. If she came whining to me “Oh they’re making fun of me … yada yada yada” I’d say, well you play with fire you’re going to get burned. Plain and simple. I have a hard time finding anything to be sympathetic about in this particular situation.

So, take off the kid gloves … that girl was old enough to make a decision and she did, and now she has to live with the consequences … are they fair? Maybe not … they might be a little extreme (and some are more than a little) but at no one’s fault but her own.

Nope, you’re not. LOL.

Cruelty would be setting her up to fall, photographing it and then posting it on the internet.

I didn’t make her fall…I just watched.

Why do you care so much that people are fat (thin, skinny-fat, ripped, hyooge)? How do body composition or personal fitness habits justify turning what would already be a painful and embarrassing experience for someone into an absolute, never-to-be-forgotten nightmare?

Damn woman didn’t you read earlier on this thread? the debate is over!

I think?

Because you declared it so on page four of this thread?

Why do people do that? If someone feels that a discussion has outlived its usefulness, why don’t they simply stop reading? Why put pressure on others to stop discussing?

I always wonder about that.

OK, Emily, clearly you have NEVER laughed at anyone who had some minor unfortunate accident. I am sorry many of us are beneath you but the size of the individual isn’t even the issue. In the scenario you quoted, you could easily make it anyone and unless they actually harmed themselves, it would still be a little funny.

I am not for the beating she seems to be taking at this point and some of those comments are reaching the point of just being evil. However, I am not going to act like some of that wasn’t funny.

If you saw an obese man in a speedo getting this kind of flack, would you be so emotional about it?

Tell the truth, E.
Prof X got you with that last part haha.

lol.

You know I swear I’ve seen this girl in a commercial or something.

It starts out showing her in a green bikini on the beach and all you see is the back of her. It then pans to a group of white dudes sitting down and they are yelling all excited and everything, pans back to her and she turns around. Goes back to the guys and they get all quiet and look depressed once they see her from the front.

Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about? I don’t think I imagined this lol

I hope this Gif upload works…

REALLY? So next time you do something stupid and get caught on camera, it’s your fault if the result gets uploaded for the whole world to see? Please.
Well, you took my comment somwhat out of context, as I was referring specifically to putting on a bikini and posing in front of a car (even in a GARAGE…lame). Posing in a “Hey! Look at my fucking crotch! I should be in DUB magazine!” style.

But to answer your question…Yes. If I do something that stupid, and it gets caught on camera, its my own damn fault.

Some of the comments on her myspace blog are JUST sad.

People take things to an extreme. I doubt the ones making the worst comments look any better than she does.
Amen to that. Like it or not, this chick has become an internet phenomenon. If she plays her cards right, she could make some serious money (out of advertising alone), as long as she doesn’t limit her blogging to myspace, which seems to be happening.

If she was savvy enough to start her own website, she could make a killing and say a big ‘fuck you’ to all her detractors.

If they want a laugh so badly, make 'em pay for it…

Tell the truth, E.
In the scenario I quoted the size of the woman was the ENTIRE issue. The funny part would be that she (a fat chick) fell in the middle of the ice cream aisle and smashed a Ding Dong into her fat ass. A fit man publicly laughing at a fat woman who falls down in such circumstances would create hurt for her whatever the physical result.

As for the obese guy in a Speedo…I’d rather not be subjected to it, of course, but I’m free to ignore him, as I ignore the other fifty things I encounter on any given day that I prefer not to look at. What do I care if some out of shape guy feels happy about himself (or anything else)?

When I laugh at people (and I do) they are generally people I admire, who can handle being poked fun at. Exceptions to this are bullies and celebrities. Although there is a point at which things cease to be funny for me, I figure celebrities are well paid for putting themselves in the spotlight, so they get what they get.

Which is why I haven’t commented on the girl in the OP’s post. I fervently hope that those pics don’t represent an overwhelming betrayal on the part of a boyfriend, but assuming they don’t and she’s gone public willingly, she gets what she gets (and yes, I found some of the comments funny). Same with those grotesque fat pics people sometimes post. They appear posed, so although they make me sad (why? why would someone degrade herself like that??) I don’t nag people to be sensitive.

But some woman eating ice cream? Dude. Get control of YOUR issues and let her live a happy life.

I’d laugh. Simply because it has comedic value. ANYONE falling into something is generally pretty funny in my book.
