I’m waiting for my coffee to kick for my midnight squatting mass, and I discover a link to a life-extensionist website. Protandim, from Lifeline Nutraceuticals, will hit the market next year (just like how male birth control was going to hit the market last april, ha ha); it seems to be the brand name for both a product and a product line that contain superoxide dimutase (SOD) boosters. SOD was discovered back during the late-60s; Lifeline claims that protandim will increase endogenous anti-oxidant production, but the pickings on their site are lean–I can’t even find an ingredient, or even a Biotest-like tease about the ingredients.
Apparently, SOD increases yield increased lifespan in every animal trial. At the same time, the only sure-fire way to extend lifespan (in rats) is to cut insulin through a severe diet–think Christian Bale in “The Machinist”–not exactly a course most people visiting this site would pursue.
Does anyone know anything about Protandim? Is it the first step in granting me a five-hundred year lifespan and psychic powers? Or is it more like pychogenol, something that old people buy at GNC to eke out another few months? Will it inhibit endogenous anti-oxidant production if discontinued? Is Biotest working on a supplement to get me my psychic powers?
