Somebody please find that chart that shows carnivore and herbivore tooth, eye, and digestive tract comparisons. Human’s are CLEARLY in the carnivore category.

“In Defense of Food…” Is that Micheal Pollan? I’ve read excerpts as well as the Omnivore’s Dilemma". Good read as well.
I recommended “The Vegetarian Myth” because she not only debunks so many of the arguments vegans use, but she also offers sensible and reasonable alternatives to the way meat is farmed and produced today.
Yep, In Defense of Food is by Pollan. He also wrote Food Rules, which is a much shorter bullet point-type of book with nutrition tips similar to In Defense of Food, though IDOF gets much deeper into the why’s of it all.
Actually, there was a pretty good write up of the book here:
I just checked out a preview of The Vegetarian Myth on Google Books, and in the first chapter, the author’s already blaming her own vegetarian experience for causing her degenerative disc disease, hypoglycemia, dry skin, lethargy, depression, and amenorrhea. I haven’t read much more yet, but I’d place money that she simply had a poorly designed diet, which can obviously happen with or without meat.
A common problem with beginner vegetarians is underestimating the actual varied nutrition they’re getting, but vegetarian diets are not synonymous with malnutrition, as she seems to be claiming. In those cases, you blame the person choosing the foods, not the foods themselves.

Hey guys, according to the article, we can probably eat one egg a day and not die immediately! Yesssssss.
I’ve been putting 2-4 raw eggs into shakes every morning for years, yolk and everything. Literally thousands of them. So many that I got my own chickens last year just to save money on them. People are always amazed that I’ve never had salmonella poisoning.

I do agree with this. EVERY vegan I know personally is overweight (and continuing to gain weight), and an emotional mess.

We are omnivores. The healthiest natural diet includes meat.
gorillas are the closest gene wise to us, yet they don’t eat meat at all. and they are among the most muscular strongest creatures on the planet. (on land)

Since Gorillas are not the closest to Humans gene-wise (that distinction goes to Chimps or Oranguatans), your entire premise is meaningless.
Yeah, but chimps would never eat meat.

That’s because vegans are spiritually bankrupt, morally devoid and doomed to a life of self-loathing and misanthropy, which they try to overcome by harming themselves in the name of protecting animals.

That’s not fair! Everyone knows chimps only eat meat when there’s absolutely no vegetation around. ![]()

Chimps are the closest, actually. And they are avid meat eaters. In fact, they are cannibals.

Do you ever think that the manliness factor involved with raw eggs every morning for breakfast, along with high amounts of dead animal flesh, has led to our bodies turning into motherfucking MACHINES, so that we probably get salmonella about once a month from all the eggs and all it is for MACHINES like us is a half-day long case of diarrhea?
I think I’ve had salmonella a bunch of times but that my body just fucking deals with it now and I just shrug it off, or rather, shit it out.

well, would you rather look like a chimp or a silver back gorilla. I rest my case. they don’t eat meat at all.

Ill just leave this here.

I have a friend who’s been eating his chicken breasts cooked medium/medium-well for years… He’s never had salmonella poisoning, either.
Weird.
