He’s doing the 8th grade again?

yeah? well whether or not the diet is exactly right, anyone who looks like lindsay lohan does is anything but healthy. and if it is her trainer’s job to keep her healthy, he is doing one shitty job.
Right.

Agreed. But, his job is most likely not to keep her healthy. His job is to make her look like Hollywood wants her to look. Since she’s been looking like a skeleton, I’d say he’s doing a pretty damn good job.

This is from their site:
Carbohydrates - Generally, individuals should obtain 55 to 65 percent of their total calories from carbohydrate - between 6 and 10 grams per kilogram of body weight (g/kg). Some of the myths surrounding carbohydrate intake stem from the poor quality and huge portions many people consume. You should choose minimally processed carbohydrates, including whole grains and fruits and vegetables.
Protein - Protein recommendations depend on activity level. A sedentary person should consume about 0.8 g/kg; a person concentrating on strength tarring should aim for 1.2 to 1.6 g/kg; and an endurance trainer should set a goal of 1.2 to 1.78 g/kg. (This is generally equivalent to 10%-15% of total calories.) As a guideline, meat, fish, and poultry contain about 7 g/oz;beans and lentils, 7 g/serving; dairy products, 9 g/cup; starchy vegetables, 3 g/1/2 cup. Fruit, fats, and sweets and oils contain no protein.
Fat - Fat is an important part of a balanced diet. It provides satiety, calories, vitamins, and nutrients! Fats contain about 9 calories/g, regardless of the source, and should constitute 20 to 25 percent of total calories consumed. It is important to remember that “fat free” does not mean “calorie free”!!! Avoid a diet full of highly processed, high sugar, fat free foods.
Only 10-15% from protein? I would put fat and protein both closer to 30% and leave the carbs at 40%. That’s just me, though.[/quote]
What bothers me is that these numbers aren’t that far off. Sure the ratio needs some work, but he is advocating good ideas. Looking at the results though his implementation is terrible. Would she look this bad following the diet listed above? (Provided of course she gets enough calories, irrespective of ratio)
I dont think this guy does the “Practice what you preach” bit.

I guess. I’m sure he’s getting paid good money to do it. But that doesn’t make him a good trainer. Doctors who write prescriptions to rich clients who abuse them and use them recreationally to excess aren’t good doctors either. Even though they’re granting their patients wishes.

Lindsay probably doesn’t listen to him. And he won’t give up the money and turn her away as a client. But he’s not good enough to point to other Hollywood women who work with trainers who look great and are succesful.

Below is the website for Lindsay Lohan’s “trainer” Justin Gelband. And here is the diet he’s supposed to have put her on.
Breakfast-2/3 eggwhites and veggies and one banana
Lunch-3 slices of turkey, chicken or ham with lettuce and tomato
Snack-2 hard boiled whites OR one apple
Dinner-Salmon Fillet cooked with one tsp olive oil and one cup of vegetables
Snack-One frozen fruit bar
Note that I put trainer in quotes because anyone who had a clue wouldn’t have designed a diet like this. The site has it phone number and e-mail address. Feel free to let e-mail him and let him know that she looks like shit, and he needs to encourage her to eat more and get some curves (especially boobs) back. Probably change her lifting too and add some of her lean muscle back.

First, if you are going to trash someones name and reputation, you should get all the facts.
My daughter actually trains with Justin Gelband. He is an amazing trainer- yes amazing. The actual “facts” are that he goes over everything from top to bottom. He does a whole package and is extremely motavating also.Nutrition, exercise, everything.I have hired several trainers for my daughter and NONE were able to get her the results -in a healthy way- that he has done.
You did have “some” of her diet right on there but you were missing alot of it and some key elements. So that changes everything and actually makes your posting and forum nothing more than a bunch of untruths and career bashing. There is much more calorie intake and more protein, just to “start” to give you the REAL FACTS, not just what you put on here to rip apart a guys hard EARNED career.
As far as Lindsay Lohan goes and my daughter included- they are given a healthy plan from him to do and if they follow it is up to THEM. He cant make them follow his plan. If you got your facts from tabloids, then at least read ALL of them, not just pick and choose. They also reported that as she started dropping weight when she was sick, she liked the comments she was getting from the people hiring in the business and it made her want to keep her weight that low and gave her an incentive to continue to loose. That doesnt mean her trainer told her to starve herself–that was HER CHOICE like everyone who has eating disorders. If you notice, now that she is back in town by her trainer Justin–she is getting some of her shape back and picking up a few pounds looking much better. Im glad to see she is finally back with him in town. He will help her get back on the track that he sets forth for his clients.I have been to his gym several times with my daughter while he was helping her develope her plans and he DOES STRESS HEALTHY and NOT starving yourself…This dear sir is another true FACT.Is his workouts tough? Hell yeah, but so is being in the public spot light. As you can see, for those who are there is always those who are so quick to post untruths and rip them apart whether its because they gain or loose and inch…How sad. Those in the public spotlight are regular people too, just doing a different job then the rest of us.
There will always be people who spout off with ignorance and there will always be those who are sucked in by them and believe it. I dont even want to waste my time to try to convience you otherwise.Im much too busy, but I do think it is only fair to post actual facts for those of us that still believe that honesty and truth is the way to go.

A few things.
This was your first post on T-Nation. This topic was from JU-fuckin-LY.
Everyone was saying that her personal trainer Justin is shit, because Ms. Lohan looks horrible compared to what she used to look like.
That’s all. ![]()

I think you’re getting a little too excited. Glad your daughter is doing well also. Lindsay has a diagnosed eating disorder that she admitted to. I appreciate that. It’s a shame, though I think she’s recover. A shame for the reputation of the trainer that’s associated with her before she goes public with it as well. I’m glad that she has recongnized her problem and is dealing with it and that her trainer is doing what he can to help. (if you are lionel richie’s wife, and nicole richie is your daughter, I retract my statement about her doing well. haha)

Basically. Short of an eating disorder, which she did [does] in fact have that’s the logical conclusion. If she was actually following the program he laid out for her as she claimed to be for awhile and ended up looking like that and dropping to that unhealthy weight, he would’ve been a terrible trainer. That seems not to be the case. She was doing her own thing.

As said, this is what she herself claims to have eaten. And there’s good reason to believe it. It’s just that apparently it wasn’t under the direction of the trainer. That’s it from me. I see no need to rehash this anymore.
First of all, he has just become Lindsays trainer in the last few months, he did not train her to be thin, she arrived like that!!! The man is trying to get her curves back. Second of all he is traing her to be fit, its not all about size you know
Relax!
Laugh at the days to come! Live a life free from worry and anxiety!
gosh!
wait, i think thats old:

ahahahahahhahah…you’re one of those people who wanders into a conversation, says something nonsensical, and then everyone just stares at you until you leave, aren’t you?
you also have to factor in the amount of cocaine she snorts… the 700 cals of that diet probably burn off after the first gram. doesnt she party all the time?

This topic is a year old you moron. If you’re working with a celebrity for a year who makes a crap load of money to spend on supps, food, and training and can’t get results in a year, then you suck at life.

That’s exactly it. I am sure that is not how ‘he’ wants her to look. The current trend is to be crazy skinny…look at the Olsen’s, Nicole Ritchie etc. She, or her people approach a trainer and say, ok…this is how I/we want her to look, here is the money…do it…trainer says…no, not healthy…Bang…Fired…Takes huge ammount of cash to next trainer who gladly obliges.
