Limited Contraceptives=Abortion?

Bullshit. Look at the most liberal European or Asian country you possibly can, the one(s) without abstinence insisting nutjobs and tell me what you find - zillions of potassium chloride drenched babies in thousands of pieces getting funneled into incinerators.

But less per capita then in the US, with the exception of Sweden:

No, it does not refute my point, in two ways:

Sweden - arguably the most liberal nation in Europe

AND

you still find “zillions of potassium chloride drenched babies in thousands of pieces getting funneled into incinerators” anywhere there is a lack abstinence nutjobs.
But far, far less.

And you want less babies to be murdered, yes?

Not just for it to be illegal, less babies dying?

Well, for practically all European countries that is true.

When people stop fighting a rational solution, maybe they’ll get what they want in terms of abortion. But that’s not acceptable, because in the narrow world view of some, sex outside of marriage and the missionary position is bad and should be avoided. An exaggeration, yes, but you get the idea.
Thanks for sharing this. I just posted it on facebook I liked it so much :)
Joe, your cataracts are getting thicker by the minute. The relative number of “abstinence nutjobs” has absolutely NOTHING to do with it. Whether we’re talking Sweden, the US, Austria, Monaco or Luxembourg.

Mak’s premise that “they” are “the problem” is invalid.
So?

It seems to me that the relative absence of abstinence nutjobs correlates quite strongly with lower abortion rates if I use the sample you have brought up.

Giddy enough to go running to Facebook and merrily slapping it up there with glee. Holeee shit.

But after all, having watched her intellectual contortions on the other abortion thread and the haughty “I have a biology degree and you don’t” mentality I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.
I have no idea why you’re getting so excited over my pleasure at finding this link. Considering your posting history, I’ve gathered that you’re both a father and openly sexual in a way many don’t approve of. I can only gather from this that you’ve probably raised your children with sexual/relationship morals that are more closely aligned with the Dutch than the Americans and have also faced ridicule from more conservative members of your own religion at times as a result of this and your own behaviors.

Therefore, I’d think you’d be as pleased if not moreso than myself to have a good example of the reduced abortion rates as a result of your more sexually open and accepting philosophy. It’s perfectly aligned with every value you’ve perpetuated on these boards.

For the record, i’m “openly sexual in a way many don’t approve of” too. And i still find the “accepting philosophy” of the day utterly stupid.

that’s just another proof that your simplistic dichotomy between “open people” vs “abstinence nutjobs” is way off.

I see absolutely zero correlation between open sexuality and abortion…

How can it when the very example YOU brought up, Sweden, smacks you right in the face like Moe whippin’ on Curly?
Because its one example that bucks the trend and it stands out so much because the general trend is very clearly not as you have insinuated.

That link pretty much describes what a somewhat normal German or Austrian family would do.

There is no trend, per se, to be bucked.
Eh !?!

All of those liberal nut jobs running wild, no abstinence advocates to be seen (maybe Poland, who knows) and consistently lower abortion rates than the US?

What is your interpretation of “accepting philosophy”? Are you applying this term to discussion of sex with your children or acceptance of all birth control methods, including abortion. I’m using the term here to refer to the acceptance on the part of the parent that their kids will have sex as a teen and that it’s okay. I’m pretty sure neither you nor Push disagree with that.
