Hittin the gym just about 5days+ still. Weight has jumped up since I have gone to 3800+ cals a day. 214 lbs, my highest weight so far. Still got a lil spare tire going but not to worried as size and strength are increasing. So far with my workouts I have hit some pr’s. 225x5 on MP, 395x5 DL so far this yr, decline press 295x8, ez bar curl 150x6, Squats 255x5.
Things are most def improving, consistency, consistency, consistency. I have had so many guys tell me they can not grow or their arms can’t not get any bigger. BOO! The end of Feb my bi’s were less than 16.5 they are now 17.5 on is a little bigger… If I can gain 1 inch on bi’s and about 10 lbs in 2.5 mnths, eating more, and more properly and hitting the gym at least 5 days a week; anyone can. I work two jobs(14hr days) have kids and other shit to do but I still get it in, I tell everyone, “it is how much you want it”. Keep on pushing!!!
I tore the whole tendon off the knee cap, and split the tendon down the sides. The Doc had to sew the tendon back up and re-attach it to my knee cap. Everything is going good, just can’t do a lot that I used to yet. I miss playing bball and football, I still have a long way to go.
My main goal is to stay healthy. I don’t plan on any competitions or anything. I want to get to around 220 maybe more and then maybe do a cut phase, just to see if I can do it. Short term lifting goals are 450 DL, 405 bench and get my squats back over 300… I love being bigger and I love training and pushing myself. So once my knee is fully recovered the door is wide open for me to do whatever. I am just focused on a better me.
This past Fri I hit a PR on bench since knee surgery… 325x4 felt great, and I think I had a couple more in the tank. Sat I hit a all time PR on DL, 405x5 could have easily repped a few more out. 450 is in reach!!! I actually have lost some weight back down to 205 just under 4000cals a day.
Things are def clicking now… Took a week of for vacation and felt great doing it. My knee is getting stronger, but STILL a long way to go!
210 lbs… Weight is up and down , been as high as 215 and low as 205, my diet has been off but nothing drastic.
Mon was chest and back. After warm ups… flat bench: 225x5 275x3 305x3 315x3 335x3 355x2 315x5 225x15
Incline DB: 75x8 100x8 100x8 100x8
Incline Db flys: 40x8 50x8 50x8
Pull-ups lots of sets and reps
Bent over bb rows. 135x10 185x8 225x8 275x8 315x5 with a little bounce, 225x8 with big squeeze!
Pull downs wide: med weight 10 reps 4 sets
Hypers ext: bwx12 bw+25x12 bw+60x12 bwx12
Tid bits: Less is more, LOL! Seriously, never would have thought I would subscribe to that, but it works. I lift what I consider heavy all the time, so the break helps. Your body needs changes and new ways of stimulation to grow. So backing off every once in awhile and focusing on form and squeeze, reps, sets, whatever, really is beneficial.
I can’t say what will work for anyone else; I am just finding what works for me. Focus, determination and goals are crucial; you have to have a goal and a desire to reach it. If you do not have that, then you are just spinning wheels. Like my goal right now is to be one big sum-bitch and to look good and be healthy. Some might say that goal is vague and sloppy.
I say, find your own goals and leave mine the hell alone. My goal is vague but never changing, I am in pursuit of a huge and healthy physique. Not stopping till I get there. My point is, I have a goal in mind and that is good enough for me. Just set a goal and work on it!
Update… Still here, just busy as shi*. Gym took a back seat to life… was down to 2 days aweek for a period. back to 5 days again. Hit 365 bench for 3, dl 445x3, still at 225mp, squats are above 315. Weight is down drastically, 195 with clothes on, strength has suffered a little bit. No worries on my part, I am so focused in the gym now days little things do not bother me like they used to. Going to get my weight up to 220 with a decent diet and hitting the gym 5 days. 8wk goal, 475DL 350squat 405bench 250mp.
I was going to start a thread in the Bodybuilding forum and still might… But I plan on doing my first show in June due to a lot of support and love from friends and gym goers. I will try to keep everyone updated and start a thread soon.
