Light the Night for Cancer Victims

The Light the Night walk is a yearly event the Lymphona and Leukemia Society puts on and I figured this year T-Nation could make our presence known. Alwyn Cosgrove, along with battling this disease, already set up a great program over at www.liftstrong.com if you are interested in that.

If you are like me you may have been interested in donating more than the price Alwyn charged for his material. I have donated through my work and have set up a web page for the members of T-Nation to further donate to the cause, and I have set a goal of $2500 dollars, which would be easily attainable if everyone donated even a dollar.

I have recently been faced with the reality of this disease as someone I have known is no longer here because of it, and I know many of you have had the same thing happen, now is our chance to potentially make a difference. Every dollar helps.

The webpage I have set up for T-Nation is:

You can go to www.lightthenight.org to find out more about the event. They actually hold walks you can be a part of where you get a balloon with a light in it and walk in a group (There is suppose to be a huge one in Anaheim).

Thank you for reading this, and thank you for donating. I understand not everyone has the means to donate at this time, but perhaps keep this in the back of your mind for when you have an extra dollar.

nah…cancer is necessary to keep the gene pool clean.

You’re an idiot.

Holy shit. I don’t know what’s crazier, seeing the new low set in internet douche-baggery, or the fact that I’m impressed.

I’ll bump this once, I guess now isnt the best time for people to donate, which I can understand. Thanks to those of you who were able to donate and did via other methods(and to any charity really).

Wow, you are an idiot. Most people have kids by the time they are diagnosed with cancer. So you think that people who get cancer deserve it? You are a sick fellow. So the old guys who get colon cancer, at 65 is because the gene pool is dirty?

Please re-educate yourself.

The Lymphoma & Leukemia Society is a great charity. I did my first triathlon last year through their Team In Training program - what an awesome experience!

Kudos to Lonnie for setting this up. If you can spare a couple bucks, please consider donating to this worthy cause.

Thanks ntroych. The donations can be set up to be anonymous as well if that is something you were thinking of doing. My work(Rubys Diner) is also trying to raise 2500 per store (50,000 total). I thought it would be novel if we raised more than my restaurant

Also, if you wish to donate, but not through my page for whatever reason, you can go to www.lls.org/hm_lls to donate as well.

As I said above, if you would like to get a “gift” for donating, you can go to liftstrong.org and get a CD full of training/diet info from Alwyn Cosgrove for a 25 dollar donation.
