I enjoy sketching
The 4th one reminds me of the slender man pages. I think it looks great!

Self portraits don’t count.
Some more photos we took of Decaying Architecture. This factory closed down in 2019 and it’s untouched, no vandalism or graffiti. It’s a hidden gem. Took about an hour and a half to walk. It’s honestly a treat to see it’s been unscathed
As to respect the property and history we didn’t go smashing windows lol but there was an intact Gym within the factory that we could see behind glass windows, fully equipped and untouched. That was cool.
Now you have more than two ways to be the best squatter ever.
It is hard to find a piano teacher at 60, but when I can, I take lessons and try to improve my play.
Reading. I read just about everything. History and crime novels usually however. I do find Bigfoot to be an interesting topic. Occasionally I will read Hegel. When I was young I got into Objectivism. I will still read an essay by Ayn Rand and her acolytes. I prefer the Fountainhead to Atlas Shrugged.
I used to peak bag in Idaho and Wyoming. Unfortunately, my back and hip have crapped out on me. I had mountains I was listing 15 years ago, Pilots Peak in Nevada, Mt. Borah in Idaho, Mt. Moran is a peak bag up to the last 1000 feet, then if I am not mistaken you hook to a cable to the top. The Matterhorn in northern Nevada was another I had listed. But, no.
I might take skiing up again. I will just stay on the corduroy.
The Matterhorn
Photography. Wildlife, landscape, portrait, anything. I love capturing moments in time to look back on.
What camera do you use? I had a Nikon 500 dslr, but have kids, so that broke.
What is your setup for the space photography?
And that squirrel looks like he could bench more than me. Dude’s got some traps and pecs.
The squirrel is pretty jacked haha. I’ve seen some very beefy ones in the trees around my house… My camera is considered entry-level, its the Canon R10. For the space photos, I used my R10 with an 800mm Canon RF lens. With the sun, if you’re not careful, you can actually melt the sensor of the camera, so you need some very dark ND filters. I used an ND1000 stacked with an ND8. All in all, the setup for the space photos is about ~$2000, so not cheap by any stretch but a lot cheaper than a mid or pro-level setup!
I
squirrels. They’re my favorite little critters.
I prefer chipmunks.
There were a lot scurrying around campus. Never knew they were so small until I saw one in person
My kitty Grey-Grey loved them too, but in a different way.
I like squirrels a lot too. They get a bad rep, but I don’t even think it’s deserved. They have a lot of personality. Only problem is that they’re extremely efficient at destroying things (like my solar panel wiring… ![]()
I actually can’t say I’ve ever seen a chipmunk in person… I now have a desire to see one.
They do! I had a pair I brought home when I cut trees, and unbeknownst to us, cut their nest down.
I bottle fed them until they were big enough, then kept my porch window open so they could come & go.
They finally moved on, but would come visit me every morning for my coffee. That lasted a few years till they moved further on into a neighbors walnut tree.
Dude that is awesome! Ever since I got my own place I’ve wanted to make friends with one of the squirrels. I don’t know if it’d be possible to do that with adults though ![]()
Oh, you can totally do that. If you start feeding them trail mix and dried fruits you can build trust with them pretty quickly.
Like, first in the yard where they feel safe, then move it in closer. As they get used to seeing you and knowing you bring food, they’ll calm down a lot and start to trust you.
Keep reducing proximity until they’re eating from your hand.
We did that when I was a kid with an adult male that lived in the tree next to our house. Befor long it would come down and chatter at us to be fed!
Good luck!
This is Button. Because my wife decided he’s cute as a button.
We also have Zipper and Stich. Not sure which one this is.
When I was in New Mexico camping, people called them mini-bears. Which I think is adorable.
Button is probably the biggest squirrel I’ve seen. Definitely cute though, I love the coloring. Maybe I should get a birdfeeder to attract more of them to my yard.
