I did a search and read through everything I found, but didn’t quite get the answers I was hoping for - hopefully this will help others as well.
Does psyllium or inulin fiber supplements “lock up” nutrients in any way, so if I were to take it with a meal is there a concern with some of the protein (for example) not being available for digestion?
Does the water one is required to take with inulin and psyllium fiber supplements go towards one’s daily intake of water? I mean, let’s say I wanted to make sure I was getting 2L of water per day, would I be able to include the amount of water that I have to take with a fiber supplement in that total?
I am used to getting (sorry for the description here folks) smooth, low-effort, satisfying (I said sorry!) bowel movements with psyllium fiber supplements. But I CAN’T STAND the taste, texture, and the fact that it doesn’t dissolve and I can’t premix it or it turns into a gel/sludge that can’t be drunk. I would very much like for same effects from inulin - does anyone know if inulin provides the same benefits?

i’ve never heard of anything like this. it will slow down your digestion, but i doubt it will prevent any nutrient absorption.
might as well give it a try. chewable fiber tablets are also another option, which i use.
you’re worrying about it too much. will 1.87 or 2.06 liters of water in a day kill you?
probably, but nothing to worry about. Nothing compared to the insolubles anyway, and in any case it shouldnt be protein but minerals to be conserned about.
Nope, but again, not really important. You could argue that the water recomandation is partly based upon the preventive effect on constipation. Either way, not really important.
Its chemically pretty different, but maybe. They seem to have comparable effects on other parameters, so i would suggest you test it yourself.

Mix it in your morning shake, and slam the fucker down. 16oz of milk, 4 scoops of proteinz and 2 table spoons of PH.

Although I know nothing about inulin, I’ve taken to mixing my ph with OJ. It kills the flavor, and if I pound it, I can pretend that it’s just the pulp in the OJ (which I don’t like anyway, but I can choke it down.)
