Lessons to be learned from the

Does anybody else remember “learning” in elementary school that it is a good thing that the government runs the parks because if they were run privately, then nobody would be allowed to visit them? How’s that working out? But, but, but I learned that I AM the government when I was in school. How is it that property that I am not allowed on property which I OWN? Perhaps I have been deceived…

It sure would be nice if everybody would look at this “shutdown” and say, “Government operates exactly the same as a business that is allowed to take money if it’s not voluntarily given would operate.” Maybe if people start seeing the government as a business which operates by force, and not something that represents us, then we will see some change in this country.

To be clear, I don’t see this happening, but it would be nice.

If our public servants are not going to work for us, then we as their employers need not pay them. Bear this in mind next April.

I think we need some easy way to do voter initiative on a Federal level

Yeah, I saw this on ‘The Electric Company’ and ‘3-2-1 Contact’ ahhh the good old days.

At least in RE: to pay, performance and benefits

The government cannot act like a company because it’s not a company. A company relies on infrastructure that is already there, a.k.a. government, to operate. The government is needed to provide structure, companies operate with in the confines of it. They are different entities. Sure it would be nice for it to learn lessons from the private sector, but it’s not the private sector. It’s public.

If it’s privately owned, is it still a public park? And parks don’t necessarily exist for people as much as they exist in spite of people.

I believe our servants will throw us in jail if we bear that in mind next April.

Haha what if NOBODY or a something like 80% of people paid taxes for one year. What would happen? They couldn’t possibly throw 80% of the population in jail.

Not saying this could or should happen, just a thought.

They will freeze the accounts of those that don’t pay, place a lien on property owned, followed by cutting off your water, electricity, gas and other utilities.

I’m not sure it would be wise to shut 251,000,000+/- peoples utilities off…

The government would sure try. I’d be ecstatic if everyone would stop paying tribute to the government, but we would have to be prepared to physically fight the force we have already paid for if that happens. All the money we spend to fund the government(military, etc.) goes to serve GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, not us.

Yeah, you know, if there is one thing demonstrating how castrated people nowadays really are is how common tax revolts were in the past.

It seems like in ye olden days people actually got that they could do perfectly fine without government, whereas government was entirely dependent on them.

Couldn’t possibly do that to everyone. I think they would take the leaders of the movement and make an example out of them. They would also take anyone famous or very wealthy and make an example out of them like as Martha Stewart and Snipes. Even with that happening, it would sure send a message. However, the chances of 80+% actually going through with it… not happening.

The sheep want their bread and circus. They lack the testicular fortitude to form an original thought, much less an insubordinate action.

It’s a great “thought” though!

Give them a Caesar and those sheep will show you their teeth.

Its only a matter of time.

Are most Austrians as unsentimentally realistic and smirkingly cynical about the fate of the American Empire?

I may have to consider more seriously your proposal…

Its not just the American Empire.

We have a few thousand years of history in our culture and yet people refuse to learn from it.

Alright.
