Leg Day is for you Ambulating Fools

Glad she seems to be feeling better. My mom is the same way.

Thanks. Hopefully we all make it out of this relatively unscathed.

Everything felt heavy and I was gassed doing my warm up, but I still managed to beat my previous bests. My theory is that there was a super heavy pocket of air following me around and trying to hold everything down.

Triceps cramped up in the middle of the night hard enough to wake me up. Never had that happen before. Interesting to wake up and have to fight your own arms to sit up.

Job #2 has switched to installs only for the foreseeable future so I am effectively laid off from there for the time being.

Not sure how I feel about this three day a week thing. I’ve been doing 4 days a week for years + 2 jobs. Now I’m doing three days and one job. I have all this free time and I don’t know what to do.
Suppose I could go find a social life, if some stupid virus wasn’t running rampant through the streets… Guess I’ll do more chores.

Rower 20 minutes - Last weeks session was incredibly difficult to get through and I don’t know why.

Going back through the log I see I was pretty gassed last Tuesday as well, I don’t remember what I had done Monday other than we were absolutely bombed with extra work, but it was all at a computer. So who knows.

This week I was back to form the little pace boat wasn’t even on the screen when I finished, and I wasn’t trying to do anything differently.

1 Mile stroll, and then I went and bought a new lawn mower.

Received the update for America’s Strongest Crapple.

It will now be held on July 25. 14 weeks out. Don’t think I’m going to make it to World’s this year. I think it is the next week end, plus I start construction on my house the the second week of August. Iceland will have to wait. When the contest starts I will post a link to the live stream for anyone that is interested.

Cardio consisted of cutting down ~ 30 small to medium trees. My brother typically mows, but since I went and bought a new mower this week I decided to run my new toy around.

He has let the trees get way out of control, so he and I cleaned about 2/3rds of it up this weekend. I cut them with the chainsaw and he dragged them down to the burn pile. I’ve never seen him so exhausted before. He probably walked ~ 3 or 4 miles Friday & Saturday dragging trees and tree limbs. One of these days he’s going to stop listening to me and then I’ll be screwed.

He was looking forward to going back to work today. Working with my 61 year old dad is apparently easier than working with me for some reason

I did learn that I have to face up hill while running a chainsaw, otherwise I will fall forward, which is not something that is any fun while running a chainsaw. Also tree stumps make very good wheel chocks; especially when you are trying to get out of the way of a falling tree.

235 went up easy so instead of taking that as a win and moving on I jumped up to 245 and hurt my neck.
245 X 0 - (111 kg) Three times I tried, and my neck hurt worse each time. All it seemed to do was make me angry at my shoulders.
200 X 6+0 (90.5 kg) - I’m chalking up my worse performance to the aforementioned stupidity.

Incline Guillotine Press
205 X 14 -(93kg) 90 sec rest
205 X 8 - 90 sec rest
205 X 7 - Tied my total reps from last time at least

Neck was bothering me and my last brain cell decided to hulk up and beat my ego down long enough to stop me from doing Overhead extensions. Then the ego snuck back in at the last second and I ended up doing push downs with a rope.

Tricep Rope Pushdowns
70 X 15 - 30 sec rest
70 X 15 - 30 sec rest
70 X 15 super set with BW Dips X 20

Neck doesn’t hurt too much today That last brain cell was all worried about nothing.… Probably.

More chores. Took down a deck this weekend. When i put it up instead of mixing the concrete i had poured dry concrete into the holes. I do not recommend. The concrete would not break when we hit it with a sledge hammer it just deformed and slowly turned into powder. Had a nice rhythm of digging inch or so into the dirt hit the ā€œconcreteā€ with a hammer, clear the hole and repeat, For 6 hours. Then because I have skipped way to many days over the past couple of months

I have come across a strange phenomenon. Before I could bench 315#, everyone I talked to could bench that for reps, or used too or knew a guy. Now that I bench over 315, everyone seems to be able to bench 405 for reps…

Nope. I guy wanted me to fix the pot holes in his driveway this way, I told him nope. I explained that I would be more than happy to mix the quikcrete and fix it. I have dealt with this before. It is no bueno.

Back when I still had TV channels I watched the DIY shows. They poured dry concrete around posts all the time. Figured if the TV people do it, it has to work.

I now realize they do a lot of stupid nonsense. If I have a problem I check it on you tube now. Its saved me an awful lot of headaches.
