Not to bad today, heart and lungs are starting to get with the program, and my stomach didn’t feel like it was on the verge of exploding which may have help as well.

I’ve been trying a few things the last two weeks. I like keeping the same main mover for the first part of the superset and rotating the second the best.
After this week I am going to move my days around since the bench and row day are almost identical. Going to go Bench, OHP, Row.

And America’s Strongest may be postponed again. I should know something definite on Tuesday/Wednesday. I’m starting my house in August if the contest is pushed to around then, I may be skipping this year. :frowning:

My elbow sleeves have been a pain to get on here lately, and the fabric tape measure was just laying there…

Now where all the chicks at?

My twelve year old self would be pretty proud also probably my twenty year old self, but right now me thought I’d look a whole lot bigger at 18" Maybe at 19…The quest continues.

I’ve started having people pull the genetics card thinking I’ve always been a stronger guy so here is a picture of me in the hospital ~ 8 days after my back surgery, and weighing ~140# (63.5 kg) @ 6’-1".

Wave 2 Week 1 (4) Day 2
OHP - Light

I’ve lost a few pounds semi-intentionally. Back down at 189 - 190.
I float between wanting to get bigger and stronger, and being terrified of getting fat. I’ll get very close to 200# then out of the blue I’ll decide I need to fast for a day or something else stupid/ counterproductive, like when I woke up at 3:30 every morning to row, for two months straight, and then I’ll drop back down to the 190 range.

I had the same issue at 165 about 5 years ago. At the very least it seems my set point for weight is now 25# heavier, while still fitting in the same pants from my 165 days.

Conditioning - 2000 meter row - this absolutely killed me today ~ 30 seconds over my last time.

OHP - worked up to 210 X 5 (95 kg)
Had another one in me at least, and seeing how the rest of the session went I’m a little angry at myself for holding back.

A. Pull Ups
a1. BW X 9
a2. BW X 9
a3. BW X 9

B. OHP
b1. 200 X 6 (90.5 kg)
b2. 185 X 8 (83.5 kg)
b3. 175 X 9 (79 kg)

C. Rollouts
3 X 10
That last set was at least 80% bullshit micro reps, but I’m counting it because it sucked to do.

D. Speed Bag
3 X 60 seconds
Last set felt like I was drunk, couldn’t get more than three or so hits in without screwing it up. ended up just rolling my fists since its the hardest to screw up…

90 seconds between Giant sets. Death seemed like it would be a sweet release on that third one.

My skin was super flushed after I finished, even my palms looked like they had spent way too long in the sun. My motivation meter dropped down to zero and I called it a day.

I don’t know if it was the heat, or the dust or what, but today was terrible. I’ll have to comeback and hit it hard next time.

I’m entering the slow part of the year for my industry, so I have a ton of free time at Job #1 now. Decided to try and write a story and keep myself from going crazy(er).

I’ve never managed to make it through one before. I probably have a dozen or more half to three quarter finished ones scattered around my computer. Trying to see this one through will give me something else to think about instead of training/competing which is probably a good thing.

If I am ever happy with it I might post a link or something up here, knock my ego down a few notches if nothing else.

Would love to have the link.
Fiction? Non- fiction? Mystery? Self help? Let’s have it.
I have several partials myself and a couple of finished short stories.

Fiction.

Nonfiction has always been to rigid for me. All those pesky facts getting in the way, and self help is not my wheel house. I’m a very pull yourself up by your bootstraps guy, and a “I made it through why can’t you?” I’ve become more understanding here the last few years. (Probably getting old and sentimental) maybe one day.

This story I’m working on right now would be classed as historical fiction I suppose. 1912-14 set in Nova Scotia & artic circle area H.p. lovecraftish with slightly less racism. :slightly_smiling_face:

I rewrote a lot of norse myths for giggles one week.

Most of what I have written ended up being a bunch of Conan/ Tarzan clones set in different imes. Also with slightly less racism than Robert Howard/ Edgar Rice Burroughs. :slightly_smiling_face:

The one I made it the most into was actually a Dark Souls fan fiction oddly enough.
I was looking for something to sate my curiosity and found a Dark Souls / My little
Poney cross over which made me both violently angry and nauseous so I had to write something to try and cleanse my mind.

Sounds interesting, hope you get it finished!

Much better than last week. I think it was the heat last Tuesday that broke me down. It was 7 or 8 degrees cooler in my house this time around and I didn’t feel like I was going to die the entire time. Guess I’m not as heat tolerant as I thought. Something else to work on.

It may be time to turn the a/c on tight ass! Heat index heat yesterday was 109

NEVER!!! Some Discomfort < Tiny Electric Bill

See if you can tell when I started living alone again.

You do realize that’s crazy, right? Do you think this could be effecting your recovery?

I do strongman in a wheelchair. I never had a whole lot of marbles to begin with.

I’m sleeping pretty good, especially now that I’m off that stupid soft mattress, and my lifting numbers keep going up so I doubt it’s messing with me too much recovery wise.

I think it was the combination of the 2000 meters & heat that beat me down last Tuesday.

Taking off the roof of my garage and leaving everything where it was, ended up being a terrible idea. The Sledge hammer and my pull up bar were both stupidly hot, ended up with a tiny blister in the middle of my hand, luckily I don’t use them for much.

I forgot about it until today, but the 7th was my 9 year anniversary of being lit on fire.Looks like I’m due for another semi-major accident / injury sometime soon. Fingers crossed its the result of a fist fight with a tiger… Or a polar bear sized goose.

I did something to my left shoulder yesterday, July 11th, not sure exactly what. I was sitting at my mom’s house after moving most of my sister’s crap into a storage unit. I moved my arm across my body from left to right and my shoulder hurt 2/10 or so. I ignored it for a while and went back to my house a few hours later. Going up my ramp it really hurt 5/10 and felt like it needed to pop, but wouldn’t. I couldn’t lift my arm up past parallel to the floor with out a massive amount of pain.

Another hour or so later I transferred into my shower where it continued to hurt 6-7/10 constantly. I gave up the tough guy routine and took an ibuprofen after I finished. I transferred to the ground which hurt the worst so far 8/10 while bearing weight thru my arm, with a dull ache the rest of the time.

Half hour or so later I was doing my leg stretches, I reached over to my leg left leg with the injured arm and my shoulder popped very loudly, It was much much louder than the noise my Ac joint thing made a couple months back, but it felt better; it still hurt but it wasn’t worth taking notice of.

It is super sore today but no bruising or weakness, as you are about to read. Don’t have a clue what happened. Any ideas?
