Since I’m the one who started this thread I might as well provide an upate.
So yesterday I bought a 42" Visio LCD with 1080p resolution based on Consumer Reports and other websites high ratings plus it’s budget friendly as a motherfucker.
the regular price was $1,199. I got a $300 discount for signing up for Direct TV (two year contract. I hate contracts, but I also saw good reviews on Direct TV in CR so fuck it, they seem good to me).
Then, 5 minutes after I got home I went to costco.com and saw the same tv for $999 so I called Circuit City and asked for them to price match it based on the $1,199 price and they did so without giving me any bullshit whatsoever.
So in the end, I got a sick TV for $699. As far as overall value goes, I think I took the best route.
