Layman' Training Log/Diary - Bodybuilding - (Red Pill/Blue Pill)

For the decline dumbbell press I was using the sit up bench, set on level 3 it looks like -30º to me. It felt like I was doing dips. Next time i want to try -45 degrees.
What I do is make sure my phone is not in my pocket, then I place the dumbbells on my hips, then I sit on the sit up bench with the dumbbells resting in my hips, then when I lay back I pull the dumbbells into position and then press, if you go heavy you can end the last rep at the top of the movement and then rest the dumbbells on your hips and sit up

Today is Light back and biceps

Thanks for the positive energy guys. I just realised today it’s been 10 years since I read A dance with dragons by George Martin, i remember the time I was reading that book, it doesn’t feel like long ago to me, its amazing how a decade can pass so fast.

Winds of winter still isn’t released. I think wheel of time was better for sword and strategy, rodel ituralde was such an impressive general. And the last battle in wheel of time was the best war/battle sequence I’ve ever read, I saw the trailer by amazon but it looks like it was made by people who didn’t even read the books, I think they changed everything, for example both suan and moiraine fall in Love with men in the books, and suan and moirane had scenes together and I didn’t pick up on anything and I read all those books 3 times, I suppose the author did leave it open to it being a possibility that they went through a phase when they were young like any author would leave things to imagination but the main thing for me was there was no erotic scenes in the books.
I heard they messed up the lord of the rings too.
the last book I read was battle mage by Peter flannery, i think it was really good, I’ve been waiting for the sequel if there will be one. And kings dark tidings by Kel kade, I enjoyed those books, I’m still waiting for book 5, I’ve been waiting for book 5 for years. Blood song was good, i read all the Ravens shadow books by Anthony Ryan, I recently found out he released a sequel series to ravens shadow that I could read.

The next decade is for bodybuilding to me, I’ve decided to do this for the first time in my life

Yesterday I was feeling sleepy when I was doing the squats, I kept yawning, so I moved on to the next exercise and then I started to feel better, I felt much better by the time I was doing the military press.
I enjoy the military press so much, I’m shocked how much pleasure I experienced repping the 60kg yesterday, l feel like doing military press again today because it feels so good lol

I bought a really nice pre workout that does not contain creatine mono, I do not want creatine mono in my pre, and it has 3g of L citrulline without malate, and I’ve been taking intra carbs, on my last bicep workout the pump was incredible

I like to watch full days of eating, sometimes while I’m eating and I’m glad I tried the intra workout carbs drink

So I went to the doctors today and got some of my vitals. 171cm and 80.2kg, I was happy to see that I haven’t lost too much weight. I also got my blood pressure checked and the lady smiled at me and told me my blood pressure is better than hers and it’s really good, thank god for everything

So today I will be preparing my body for heavy bench in a few days, My goal is hypertrophy but I do enjoy heavy bench, deadlift and squats, I’ve never tried to bench 120kg, I think I could definitely bench press 120kg, but I’ll take things slow and I’m thinking to wait until I can get 10 reps with 100kg before moving up in weight so as not to tax my body and so I can get hypertrophy when I move up in weight I hope. So for my next heavy chest day I’m planning 4 sets to failure with 100kg on the flat bench

I really felt the chest workout yesterday, it felt like i achieved more hypertrophy than the last time I did 5x5 with 100kg. Yesterday it felt like so much time under tension on my chest and I could really feel so much muscles activating and getting involved on my chest. I was barely resting between sets yesterday, on most exercises I didn’t rest between sets, I managed to find a bunch of 5kg plates so I decided to pyramid and I was only taking the time to change plates then get back under the bar, except when it got heavier. By the time it got to the 80kg on the flat my chest was already feeling it and I think it was the constant work and racked it at 8 reps. By the time I was doing the pump on the flat my chest was properly feeling it and when I took another 5kg off each side it felt too light so I was exploding up and down with form and I felt that too.

I was watching Greg doucette doing commentary on Chris Bumstead’ workout a few days ago while I was eating, Greg sounded like he was commentating a sports event, I think they said the weaker you are the easier it is to build muscle. I’d have to rewatch it to confirm if that’s what they said, I think it was the shoulders episode.

After yesterday’s workout going heavy seems pointless since I’m focused on bodybuilding, but I enjoy benching heavy and get pleasure from it, ohh yea I bought wrist wraps and I haven’t tried them with the bench yet, I’m thinking to try them next chest workout, I wonder if I can get more reps with the wrists wraps on flat bench

A cute chubby boy asked me for help in the gym yesterday when I was finishing the flat bench, maybe he was around 14 years old, he wanted me to check his form on the bent over dumbell row, he had the 16kg dumbbells, he had his wrong foot on

The ground, he was bent over but wasn’t putting pressure on his hand touching the flat bench and he was pulling the dumbell directly up to his chest and back down in a straight line, i told him the leg touching the ground needs to be on the same side as the arm holding the dumbbell and that he needs to put some body weight on his hand on the bench to help his posture and i told showed him to row the dumbbell. it felt really good to help him.

on my last deadlift workout a few teenagers asked me to show them how to deadlift, that felt good aswell.

And I helped another boy on his military press, he was keeping the bar infront of his body at the top of the movement, he was pushing the bar up and down in a straight line from infront of his face, and he was trying to look at the bar the whole time, after I showed him what to do he could lift more reps and heavier, that felt good

I enjoyed the pec fly machine yesterday, I put the seat on the lowest level and I really felt it, I was surprised, I think if I tried to go heavier on the pec fly machine i wouldn’t have felt the benefits of the exercise

And on the dumbbell tricep exercise I didn’t rest between sets, I was just going front right arm to left and back and forth constantly

Today is supposed to be heavy back and biceps but I’ll see how I feel, I might switch it up

“But the weaker you are, the more concentrated it is on the one muscle you want i.e your pecs, so the bigger your boobies get” that’s what Chris bumbstead said in Greg doucettes video build a massive chest with Chris bumbstead at 5:10. I don’t know what Chris said before that And Greg’s commentary was vague in my opinion…

I think my form on the flat bench press is good which is the reason why I can bench 100kg in my opinion but it’s more like powerlifting and I think it activates and strengthens existing mature muscles.

I think when you lift lighter weights in relation to your tolerance to meet rep ranges baby muscle fibres activate and get involved.

I’ve never attempted to bench anything heavier than 100kg, I’ve just been trying to bring up my reps

I remember reading the first book at some point after GoT, the assassins apprentice but there wasn’t enough sword fighting for me so I thought maybe it was aimed at a younger audience.
I did enjoy GoT, it does have poetry to be honest, I like stories about knights, honour and chivalry and sword fighting, and ancient war and strategy, I think there is things that can be learned for a young man to read GoT, things you can’t get from the tv series, I read all those books twice, I really liked the egg and dunk series, I love horses and the jousting tournament was so thrilling, I’ve been waiting for the next book in that series for around a decade

No they get far better, there’s telepathy, dragons and axe slaying. Stick with them.
