I really felt the chest workout yesterday, it felt like i achieved more hypertrophy than the last time I did 5x5 with 100kg. Yesterday it felt like so much time under tension on my chest and I could really feel so much muscles activating and getting involved on my chest. I was barely resting between sets yesterday, on most exercises I didn’t rest between sets, I managed to find a bunch of 5kg plates so I decided to pyramid and I was only taking the time to change plates then get back under the bar, except when it got heavier. By the time it got to the 80kg on the flat my chest was already feeling it and I think it was the constant work and racked it at 8 reps. By the time I was doing the pump on the flat my chest was properly feeling it and when I took another 5kg off each side it felt too light so I was exploding up and down with form and I felt that too.
I was watching Greg doucette doing commentary on Chris Bumstead’ workout a few days ago while I was eating, Greg sounded like he was commentating a sports event, I think they said the weaker you are the easier it is to build muscle. I’d have to rewatch it to confirm if that’s what they said, I think it was the shoulders episode.
After yesterday’s workout going heavy seems pointless since I’m focused on bodybuilding, but I enjoy benching heavy and get pleasure from it, ohh yea I bought wrist wraps and I haven’t tried them with the bench yet, I’m thinking to try them next chest workout, I wonder if I can get more reps with the wrists wraps on flat bench
A cute chubby boy asked me for help in the gym yesterday when I was finishing the flat bench, maybe he was around 14 years old, he wanted me to check his form on the bent over dumbell row, he had the 16kg dumbbells, he had his wrong foot on
The ground, he was bent over but wasn’t putting pressure on his hand touching the flat bench and he was pulling the dumbell directly up to his chest and back down in a straight line, i told him the leg touching the ground needs to be on the same side as the arm holding the dumbbell and that he needs to put some body weight on his hand on the bench to help his posture and i told showed him to row the dumbbell. it felt really good to help him.
on my last deadlift workout a few teenagers asked me to show them how to deadlift, that felt good aswell.
And I helped another boy on his military press, he was keeping the bar infront of his body at the top of the movement, he was pushing the bar up and down in a straight line from infront of his face, and he was trying to look at the bar the whole time, after I showed him what to do he could lift more reps and heavier, that felt good
I enjoyed the pec fly machine yesterday, I put the seat on the lowest level and I really felt it, I was surprised, I think if I tried to go heavier on the pec fly machine i wouldn’t have felt the benefits of the exercise
And on the dumbbell tricep exercise I didn’t rest between sets, I was just going front right arm to left and back and forth constantly
Today is supposed to be heavy back and biceps but I’ll see how I feel, I might switch it up
