You guys do realize that the more we complain about this the more it gets C-Law off? He’s probably sitting at home jerking it to every reply in his thread just know that he has the ability to annoy every person his words come into contact with.

Telling someone their avatar is lame when you don’t even have one is like a homeless man telling me my house sucks.
It’s simple: he stated that did not wish to see an image that was not the posters self, he allowed that cartoon images could used though his tone indicated disdain & he posts no avatar = if he posted a true picture of himself, we would all see a skinny 15 year old kid, one hand on his wiener, one hand clicking a sticky mouse, as his head is turned towards his bedroom door hoping his mother doesn’t walk in. Kids these days…
I went through a rigorous process to come up with my avatar, involving drinking many gin martinis and surfing the web at 2 in the morning until I wound up on the website of my favorite musician – Tom Waits.

Why do so many guys use the picture of another man as their avatars?
Personally, it seems a little lame to use another man’s picture as one’s avatar. It’s kind of like saying: "I’m not my own man, so I’ll use the photo of someone else to ‘represent.’
[sarcasm]
There’s a sense in which he’s right. It’s kind of like posters who hide behind a nickname instead of telling us who they are.

I get why people might cartoon characters, or something. But a lot of guys use as avatars the photos of various mixed martial artists, powerlifters, and bodybuilders.
What’s up with that?

I was clearly making a snide comment about the nom de plume “California Law.” Yesterday, however, was Halloween, and a student showed up at school dressed as the main character in “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” I got thinking: “Indiana” Jones…“California” Law. I actually work with someone whose surname is “Law.”
So I apologize for treating Mr. Law as if he were hiding behind a lame name. He could easily have been named “California” by his parents. I meant no offense.

As you were, gentlemen…
I think he’s a junior though. The dog’s name is California.
