Lab Results: Rhod

I’ve long suspected low T so I finally got lab tests done. Result is as expected.

E2: 24 pg/ml [range <=63]
FSH: 2.6 miu/ml [range 1.3 - 11.4]
TT: 249 ng/dl [range 292-1052]
SHBG: 52 nmol/l [range 16-94]
FT: 3.6 ng/dl [range 4.8 - 25]

  • 29 years old
  • 6"2 height
  • 36" waist
  • 195 lbs
  • decent body hair, never had baldness issues
  • carry fat: like a bitch, love handles and hips like no tomorrow, almost impossible to get rid of
  • conditions: ulcerative colitis, drug-free for almost three years now mostly managing by clean diet
  • diet is on and off low-carb, last year experimented with 4000 kcals/day, this year been between 2000-3000 consistently trying to lean out
  • training has been reactive pump for 6 months, now adding in little bit more even combining with layering just to push myself
  • no testes ache, I do suspect they have shrunk on a prior test cycle (dumb, young and willing)
  • poor sex drive, very lethargic, easily depressed/demotivated

When I was 23-24 I had a first bout with test, thought it was cool etc did research and did a cycle of Test E for six weeks with Clomid/HCG post. Like I said in the summary I feel like my testes shrunk during that cycle and I suspect I might have fucked up the post-cycle on that one.

All in all I’m somewhat educated on the subject, but haven’t brushed up on any knowledge ever since my UC diagnosis because I didn’t want to introduce anymore variables. Now that I’m confident I have that under control I want to get back to being the best I am again, clearly that is going to need some work!

GP, as usual, prescribed some topical creams. Not holding my breath on that one.

Found a doc, easy as pie got prescription for 200mg Test C every week, I’m opting for KSman’s protocol and doing 100mg E5D though. Doc advised me to do hCG 2 days before and 3 days after at 500iu, does that sound right?

Also taking 0.5mg Anastrozole with every injection.

Now for my main question:

Last night I did my shot with a 28g x 0.5" slin pin in the vastus lateralis…

My question is, is there anyway to tell whether it went IM or was too short and ended up SQ instead? I like to think I recognize the feeling when the needle penetrates the muscle (it feels like a faint pressure deep inside) but of course this could be a figment of my imagination. Is soreness the next day any indication of IM injection?

IM is not needed. SC creates steadier levels. No need for decades of muscle damage. So, does not matter if IM leaked to SC.

Stick to 1mg/week anastrozole per 100mg T ester per week.
Understand “anastrozole over-responder” and know what to do.

With steady T levels, AI works best and then there is no voodoo about taking hCG at any point in time.

1000iu/week hCG is reasonable.

Thanks KSman, do the injection sites matter with SQ?

Also, I feel like my testes have been shrinking… granted this has always been a fear of mine so it might be an overreaction but what is a good way to keep track and what should one do if they do actually shrink? Just up the hCG?

Should not need more hCG. I have seen were hCG mixed and shipped by a pharmacy gets ruined. Always mix yourself and refrigerate. I keep my BA water cold so it gets a cold start.

I prefer SC on tops of legs as it is easy to see what you are doing. Some prefer belly. But there, I seem to have more veins there or at least can’t see those there to avoid. I get lumps there too, but not on legs and some have the opposite. Find what you are comfortable with.

hCG was not mixed, I mixed it myself.

Just did SQ in the lovehandle area and indeed it feels clumsy, I think I’ll stick to legs as well. Thanks for all the advice!

Did a very elaborate lab test, simply because I haven’t had a full checkup in a while and well… cause I can?

Most of the CBC and CMP stuff I have no idea what to do with. Hoping some experts here can shed a light on everything, two more pics coming.

T and IGF-1 look great to me, E2 is very low which I suspected since my joints have been hurting like hell. I bumped my T to 100mg every 3.5 days, 500iu hCG every 3.5 days and 0.5mg anastrozole every 3.5 days.

Injections are SQ delt/love handles/quads Sunday night and Thursday morning, blood was drawn wednesday morning (24hrs before next shot)

Chol and diabetes warning not sure how serious to take it, iron looks super deficient as well. Anything else to take away from this?

KS,

Do you think IM is more beneficial for a normal cycle of T? And SQ is better for TRT?

You have quite a few flags on your test. Google iron deficiency anemia. Compare your labs to the symptoms.

Your doctor didn’t see any of these as cause for alarm?

@Kanyon:

I did these privately, no doc involved.

@Batman:

I have done all of my shots SQ in delts and love handles, at least with the delt I’m not sure exactly but I used .5 needles and I’m not exactly low body fat so my best guess is these were SQ and I managed to achieve a quite favorable reading.

You have 21 flags on your blood test. The ranges determine what is considered “healthy” by medical practitioners, which doesn’t even mean optimal. The flags would be an indication of a disease, like iron deficiency anemia as I said before.

You should really have a doctor look at them.

I have sent them to a doctor to review, but just like you said doctors do not always care about optimal ranges, but only normal ranges. Hence why I would appreciate feedback from some experienced T-people too.

Mostly CBC and CMP I’m not familiar with, the rest is all pretty straight-forward. Thanks for your advice!

CBC is a little outside the scope of knowledge for most of us, except for probably KSman, but he’s been AWOL the past few days.

What protocol were you on at the time of the tests? The one above, or the new one you posted?

Yessir, every 3.5 days:

100mg T
500iu hCG
0.5mg anastrozole

Obviously dropping the anastrozole for a while.

Estradiol can be a tricky beast for some, myself included. If the anastrozole was having some negative side-effects, you should notice a couple of days (after some of the anastrozole clears your system) where you pass through the “sweet spot” and feel pretty good.

If you DON’T feel a sweet spot, it might be time to look at other causes for the symptoms.

I’m laying off it completely for two weeks and see how I feel. Another test in 4 weeks should be sufficient time to check up on it.
