Good to hear from you L! You’ll be home soon =D
Not too much longer now…
glad you are well!
I’M BACK!!!
Ok, so i’ve been back in the glorious USA for almost 2 weeks, but i’ve been super busy and haven’t had time to post, sadly. Hopefully i’ll have time to post my workouts this weekend, though i’m just building back up to where I left off. I’ve migrated over to 2 workouts a day 3-5x week, one of them being cardio, and i’m still putting my life back together post-Congo. I’m waiting at the airport for a flight to MA for a wedding this weekend which means i’ll also get to go to the gym with my dad and start off a new training program. Unfortunately my tiny phone keyboard is limiting. More to come soon!
YAY, your BACK!!!
welcome back ![]()
hurray! ! !
Soooo…
I’m back in the Congo.
It’s only been about 6 weeks since I was here last, which is hard for my training momentum. I haven’t logged in here in almost as long because of ridiculous work hours. I have time for the training but not the logging (/reading other people’s) part. I’m beginning to think about a new job that a) keeps me out of third world countries without gyms and b) is not crazy stressful (also bad for training progress).
Anyway, I won’t post my last 40 workouts or anything, but I’ve been working on my bench. I’m up to a 185 1RM (which was cool because my Dad was working out with me to see it :)), thinking of making 200 my goal. Haven’t gone for the 1k leg press yet, Nikki. ![]()
I’ve missed being on here, hoping to catch up on some logs to see some inspiring progress! ![]()
Sorry to hear you’ve been so busy, happy to hear you’re still working it and logging it when you can. I’d all but given up hope.
And hot damn, 185?! That’s kuh-razy!!
laugh I can see how some of the romance of the Congo would fade after a second deployment (to use the military term) in such a short time.
a 185 bench!!
holy shit. there’s gotta be something in the Congo water… ![]()
keep safe
Hey Kris and Main, thanks for stopping by.
Judging by a quick peek around the site, it would seem I’m not the only one who’s fallen off the logging bandwagon.
Indeed, the romance is waning, although I do have a strange attachment to this bizarro country. Of course, a little more absence could have made the heart grow a little fonder. Ah, well. The cool thing is that at the end of this trip, I’m going on a safari!
Kris, how’d your GVT go?
Mainie, there’s definitely something in the Congo water, but I’m not drinking it! haha Thanks ![]()
Oh, and since I’m staying at a new place this time, there’s actually a gym!! With weights!! Yesssssss!!!
when will you be back again?
Back in the States August 20th. It sounds so far away… but time will fly by. I hope!
