Happily you won’t be doing the lactic training for at least four months, so we can continue to watch the ‘regular’ numbers climb and shine.
I can honestly say that room is much nicer than I was expecting. That said, it would still not be awesome to live there for five weeks especially given all the other restrictions in place during your stay.
What’s 1k# on leg press, four more plates total? Just do it already, you got the 840 for 8 right? Add two plates next week, and two more the week after that. Done. ![]()

I like doing random workouts. I don’t have them in my routine since I train 6 days a week already and can’t sub one of my days for a random workout =(

Its so nice to go in to the gym and do whatever you want. I happen to suck at that. HAHA! I’ll just meander around and probably get nothing done! But every once in a while I’ll just toss something random into my workout - you know, just cuz!

Kris, I’m just going to have to assume from now on you’re just going to agree with whatever Nikki says, since that’s what you’ve posted the last 3 or 4 times.
Getting to 1k would be quicker if I didn’t have to stop in a week. haha
As much as I’d like to race you, Nik, either you have to put your leg press on hold or we’ll have to count days and not run the clock. haha If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to pick up where I left off in June. Where are you at for a heavy leg press? I’m a little gun-shy with the leg press because of hurting my back previously, so I try to take it up slowly. I need to figure out what the sled weighs. My random workouts are fun, they’re a nice part of my week. And I have plenty of time on Saturdays to meander around the gym for a couple hours.
Tbh, Maschy, I’d feel really weird about videoing my lifts at my gym (even though I think it’s completely reasonable, I just don’t want people thinking I’m some cocky bitch!), but I promise when I get to 1k I will.
It might be in secret on a Friday night. haha

Okay, so you don’t have time to two-week it to 1k on the press. I’m willing to bet it won’t take you ‘that’ long to get back up to snuff when you get back. Especially with all the crazy old school bodyweight stuff you’ll be doing for five weeks. I further think that neither you nor Nikki would have the slightest bit of trouble getting someone to film you doing your leg presses for you. Just sayin’.
I’m pretty sure the HS sled at my gym weighs 116# (maybe 118#) unloaded. It’s on the same little tag that shows how to leg press (lawl) and which muscles are worked (again I lawl).

Monday was a pretty good day; the FA even let me borrow the 12.5s she was using. Tuesday was a little less so. The bench was okay, but I had a spotter who helped a little too much on the last set. I was distracted, though. My ‘diet advisor’ came by when I got in and said, “You should have lost more weight by now on this diet. Are you cheating?” I was a cross between livid and on the verge of tears. I won’t elaborate on the whole thing, but I’m over it. Today’s workout was decent. I switched carb nights so I could have a drink with my coworkers tomorrow after work before I leave. I had a wave of anxiety hit me yesterday, but I just have to think I’m well prepared and the time will fly by.

I’m sorry about the diet lady incident, that sort of thing is always a touchy topic. A friend of mine was doing everything right for a good long time and not losing much, if any weight. It eventually did sort of fall off, thus proving (again) the ‘progress in spurts’ theory postulated by many who know what they’re doing.
In contrast, a client of mine decided that the only dietary approach he hadn’t tried was a severely restricted calorie diet (~1k/day). He’s lost weight for sure, but his strength is noticeably down as is his pep towards the end of a workout. My point (I has one!) is that you seem fairly svelte from the one video of you I’ve seen, and you’re clearly quite strong (hi there 110x5 tricep extensions). So while understanding how easy it is for me, not being you, to say this, I say don’t sweat it too much. ![]()
It also occured to me that I’ll be doing GVT starting pretty much when you leave and ending around the time you get back. So I should be hyooooge and you should be shredded. grin
