Seinfeld Recut…

The main variable that we were talking about is racial disparities. There is no reason to not consider it as a significant variable. There are more blacks and Hispanics on welfare than whites, despite the fact that whites make up ~75% of the population of America.
Something else too:

Say I wonder whatever happened to Jessie Jaskson’s boycott?

Not a compliment but not an attack. You didn’t call someone a name you berated an entire ethnicity.

Could you give me the link again claiming that 55% of thw welfare recipients are “white”? I find it hard to believe that in “six years” the percentage of white welfare recipients went from 39% to 55%. Somehow I think that this would be big news. Somehow I think it is a total lie, unless they are counting Hispanics as “whites”.
It wasn’t a link that I provided and it’s a few posts back. I too would find it hard to believe, but reporting on the plight of the poor doesn’t seem to be front page news these days.

Give a political poll to a liberal and have him question 100 people. Now have a conservative poll the same 100 people with the same questions. Both side would provide poll results benefiting their own opinion.

And for info, Hispanics ARE the other white meat. How’s that for being racial?

Good job on bringing the tone down.

Yep
Professor X is my least favorite person on this board but I agree here.

This is why you dont say it. IT OFFENDS PEOPLE

Why would you want to offend another person or in this case race by using a word that has negative connations.

Black people can use it because it is not offensive when they say it. I dont understand why “we” dont get that.

Do black people really get so worked up about people using “nigger?” The thing I don’t understand still is they use it at each other daily, but when someone white usues it it’s “uncalled for”

Yeah, his stand up sucked anyways.

 1. Who is “they”? Does this include all black people or just “those” black people?

 2. There is a huge difference between “my nigga” and “get out of my neighborhood, you nigger”. If you don’t know the difference, it is because you don’t want to understand the difference.

 3. There are probably more black people who would make an effort to not use and publically decrease the usage of the word in casual conversation than there are those who actually use it.

 4. Chris Rock using the term in a JOKE as a way to describe people OF HIS OWN RACE is not the same as someone FROM ANOTHER RACE using the term as pure DEGRADATION.

 5. Did that really need to be explained to you? If so, why? Please give details of how your social awareness is so developmentally retarded.
Then it fits right in with this thread.

Exactly.

There is only one race. The human race.

Whites aren’t 55% of the welfare roll. I will call bullshit on that. It has nothing to do with polling, these are simple facts. There is no way that whites went from 39% to 55% in 6 years.

I don’t know what you mean by Hispanics being “the other white meat.” If a white person were to call them the other dark meat (since many of them are more brown than white) I bet that people would call them a racist.

If aliens, or anyone else who would study the human race objectively from a scientific standpoint were to classify humans, they would definitely use racial classification as a taxonomic tool, simply because different racial groups share a common phenotype.

When people classify dogs, they speak of poodles, shepards, etc. on the basis on phenotype, why should human sub-groups be any different?

From a social standpoint, race also matters, whether it is filling out a job application for affirmative action, or what subway car you might ride in the city (you have to be from the streets to get that one.)

Blacks certainly see it that way, case in point the mayors of Philadelphia who bragged that the “brothers and sisters are now in control” at a NAACP convention, or Mayor Naggin bragging about how New Orleans is going to be a “chocolate” city. Mexicans have their “raza” etc.

And here I thought you were easing the tone.

I didn’t write the articles JC. My reference to polls was that the pollster can manipulate the answers to fit their individual needs. Same thing could be said about the two Welfare articles.

I also agreed that there was no way the numbers could have changed so drastically in six years. But like a pollster you choose the article that fits your needs and disregard the other as bull shit. I can choose either one because regardless of the numbers, they both prove your comments were bigoted.

It was a joke. One that I shouldn’t have assumed you would understand. Hispanics don’t have their own classification on government forms anymore. Print cards in particular. They are listed as WH (white) on most. Could it be considered racist? I guess so, but my wife doesn’t take offense. She’s from Mexico and mocha colored.

You speak on their behalf or are you saying that you are an alien?

But race alone might not be the whole story. For example if you have increased poverty that would lease to increased use of welfare.

If there is a greater percentage of poor black people than caucasians, it would make sense that more would be on welfare. But then the question is: what make them poor?

As for hispanics, same thing. If there’s increased poverty, then yeah, you’ll have increased welfare usage.

If an immigrant has trouble finding work (let’s say they had a lack of education and don’t speak english especially well), then welfare is likely.

Also there are plenty of poor “white” hispanics. Which is why, this is more than merely a race issue.

Some of the biggest “race” issues in North America are more related to culture than they are to race.

lol!

Now that is how to bring humor out of a delicate matter!

If we must “disintegrate” as humans might as well make the most of it, eh?

I wonder how many people sincerely give a shit about this. I’m willing to bet very few. Of course everyone will act shocked and utter something about it being reprehensible. Something for the talk shows to discuss until the next celebrity divorce.

Some truly gentle souls may go so far as boycotting UHF and (gasp) Seinfeld. But, as a whole, people are too indifferent towards anything that doesn’t directly affect their lives, to do anything. People want to go home, watch their latest NetFlix video, eat some food. What’s important enough to distract us from these things?

Look how many people bitch about Bush and the Iraq war. And what do they do? Make a comment on an internet message board? Vote? Mostly comment that ‘Bush is an idiot’. What a fucking effort. Surely our forefathers would be proud.
Most people just don’t care enough about anything besides their own existence to do anything for anyone. Especially if it means sacrificing time, money or the slightest bit of effort.

We’ve become a country of lemmings–dull, easily distracted and profoundly indifferent towards anything until it is too late. I could go on but I really don’t give a shit. I got my own stuff to do.
it’s true. i almost didn’t care enough to post to agree with you. it’s true.
