Here’s something you probably didn’t expect: According to the FBI (2011), blacks made up 20.9% of known hate crime offenders. Whites were 59%. I believe that Latinos may be included under white.
Punch a 79 year old man (or 80 year old white woman) and you fall into a special category that doesn’t really require your “race” to get your back in the court of public opinion.
I don’t care if it was a “hate” crime or not, but I am glad that they are using whatever laws are available to put this asshole away.
