Kiddie Porn and the FBI

I don’t usually rummage through people’s stuff when I back it up, but seeing the file names is unavoidable and in this case the file names described exactly what they were files of and thinking I may have inadvertently taken evidence of federal crimes and the most extreme forms of child abuse into my home I opened some. I spent a grand total of maybe 45 seconds looking at them and then sat there with my stomach turning trying to figure out what I should do.

I did not go looking for it.

I don’t really care about “the law”. I know what a crime is.

Good point. That isn’t what Trib was getting paid to do and he could find himself in a lawsuit for violating this person’s privacy if the man is acquitted.
How many computers have you ever been paid to fix?

That’s what I thought.

Do you have any idea how many trojan horses are passed under the guise of being a jpeg?

Once again - that’s what I thought.

You did the right thing, Tirib. Don’t let this anarchist piece of shit cause you to think otherwise.

You stupid fuck. This is what this thread is about - THE LAW.

If you don’t care about it, go make up new terms, or figure out a better way to make salt. Do anything, but quit being such a fucking Lifty.

Geez.

I don’t really care what you think a crime is, but don’t kid yourself. People that collect child pornography are sick fucks.

And being a “sick fuck” is also not a crime.

I am pretty sure the same “sick fucks” that hang out in the SAMA forums are poster boys for date rape drugs – or is that too sweeping of a generalization?

Hush!

I’ll make this forum about whatever I feel like.

Strange. Who would send a computer to be fixed that had crap like that on it?

Someone who desperately wanted to watch their kiddy porn, but were too stupid to fix it themselves.

BBB

Someone who wanted to get caught but was too timid to turn himself in?

It just seems really odd. I would be thinking someone was trying to set me up. Because of that, I can understand why some people might not report it…ie everyone doesn’t trust the police OR guys with shady shit on their computers.

I think a lot of these people know what they do and simply cannot help themselves.

This might be a very roundabout way of stopping themselves, which they cannot do on their own?

If I was a technician I would not look at private files anyway.

Agreed. I’ve had my computer worked on. I guess he went through the Sergio Oliva pics on my computer and now thinks I’m gay.

Drat.
Not only gay, a very special kind of gay.

My Christmas gift to you, admittedly a little late:

I didn’t say that being a sick fuck was a crime.

Since you don’t care about the law you should at least be able to see that people who collect child porn are sick fucks. If you don’t know this then you are a dumb fuck.

Shut up moron! I am smart enough not to open up pics that might be infected – which is what a stupid technician does.

And no, I do not get paid to fix computers though I have fixed more than a few for free.

Downloading the files enables the child molestors. Supporting (not you, the downloader who was arrested) this kind of thing is just as bad as holding the camera.
How?

I’m all for immolating child molesters in the town-square, but to say that duplicating bits of data “enables the child molestors[sic]” is nonsense. Information wants to be free!

OP, that is a pretty awesome story. I’m curious: What kind of names did the files have?

SO then the title of this thread should be “Sick Fucks”.

You have nothing else to say on the matter so feel free to quit posting responses.

But if you want to have a real debate on the issue then you will be forced to think a little deeper on the subject – especially since you decided to start a debate with someone more intelligent than you.

Why is possession a crime?

Possession is 9/10th of the law. Since child pronography is against the law, so is possessing it. If you possess it, you made it until you prove otherwise.

I’m sure if this guy was stupid enough to take his computer in with that shit on it. There was most likly all kinds of addresses for the FBI to investigate. Could be the start of a major sting.

T-man breaks child porn ring!

I entered this thread to say that possession of child pornography is a crime in the U.S. You said you don’t care about the law.

I’m not debating the issue. No deep thinking on the subject is necessary.

If you don’t think that child pornography hurts children in any way then your opinion means nothing.

I’ll feel free to post whatever I feel like posting; I don’t need your permission.

Elano, you’re wrong. This is not opinion. This creep was committing a felony, and not anything “minor” like moving 20 +lbs of bud over state lines. He’s in possession of proof of evil, and needs to be seperated from the rest of the functioning world. People like this have a problem, and unfortunately for all involved it cannot be fixed. So, the solution is to remove them from society and put them in a situation where they can fully understand what it’s like to be the victim.

And then they’re right back on the streets in short time<-----THIS is what needs to be fixed.

Firing squad. Death penalty for murderers, rapists, child rapists and aggravated sexual assault.

As soon as a conviction is reached, take them behind the courthouse, line up a firing squad and pop him. No ridiculous prison expense, no waiting for justice by the victims family etc.

Of course this guy only had pics. Which I don’t believe deserves death. His prison sentence should definitely be long though.
Well…there’s always the chance that these guys are usually raped, beaten to death,or just plain out killed in prison(or county jail)when other inmates catch word of their child related sex crimes.

Even the ones like the subject of this thread are on the receiving end. I was always amazed at the “morality” of convicted murders and rapists when it came to crimes against children.
dwilliams wrote:

These kind of laws are passed based on nothing more than the “won’t somebody please think of the children” emotions.

My dad tought in the huntsville prison system in the early 90’s. Women beaters and child molesters are at the bottom of the food chain once inside, and alot of them never make it back out.
