KFC or Popeyes?

Da phuck! I just got home from the gym. My guts are in knots. I barely made it through squats due to severe gas pains, bloated gut, and a clear and present fear of shitting myself with 300lbs on my back. I come home to the greatest debate ever, KFC vs Popeye’s.

I just farted, my English Bulldog just left the room cause he can’t top that…and I’m ready to unleash hell on Popeye’s.

Spicy chicken, Cajun gravy on errrry’thang, biscuits, taters, me, the wife, cat and dog!

Popeye’s, but due to nostalgia. I know it is not anything near “real N.O. cuisine” but every time I’m in there it makes me remember being New Orleans, for Mardi Gras 2000, shitballed drunk, soaked in bourbon and hurricanes, trying to make heads or tail over the menu–happiest 23 year old in the world.

Ironically, both local KFC’s and Popeye’s are owned by the most obstinate Indian’s I’ve ever met. I’m usually the only pale-blue-Scottish person there. I guess white people in CT are a afraid of fried chicken. The local “inner city youth” thugs abuse the counter help every time I’m there, but they yell right back.

While I’m not one to pass on ANY fried chicken, I’m a big fan of a Famous Dave’s BBQ joint we’ve got out here on Long Island. Chicken, Brisket, Ribs, and a zillion sides and corn bread (of course -lol). I could spend hours there

You wanna hear something crazy? We had one of those in NH. The whole time all we heard about was how good Famous Daves was everywhere else, but for some reason the one here suuuuuuucked.

fast food chicken…I guess so but the Charleston,SC area has so many places that have great fried chicken.
around here we got KFC, Popeyes, Bojangles, Churchs Chicken, Zaxbys, Raisin Cains, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chik-fil-a.
some good local owned chains Wild Wings and Kickin Chickin.
local supermarkets like Publix, and Piggly Wiggly have some good chicken.

some of the local gas stations have great chickin like Dodges at Redtop(don’t even try to get in there at lunchtime as people park down the road and walk there to get the chicken)
if I gotta pick big chain fast food, Raisin Cains for fingers, Popeyes for dirty rice, Churchs for jalapeno’s, jalapeno poppers, and honey biscuits, Bojangles for breakfast chickin biscuits.
but for fried chickin, pork chops, and mac and cheese Martha Lou’s is the place to go.

Every now and then Popeye’s is OK but I hate fast food. Except mcgriddles those are delicious.
how are you going to compare something as awesome as popeyes to something as nasty as mc donalds?
x2. I’m not a big fast food fan either, but Popeye’s is lightyears ahead of Mickey D’s. Especially the beans and rice and biscuits.

Popeye’s taste drinks, biscuits and rice all taste like the chicken. Bleh

gotta love them squats

KFC or Popeyes? Bojangles all the way! Nothing beats BOJ cajun chicken except my “kickin chicken” hot of the grill. And Silverblood, when I hit Charleston, chicken is the last thing on my mind. My girl likes DD Peckers for mushrooms and the Noisy Oyster downtown. There are a few others but those 2 are a must visit.

Popeyes crushes KFC. It is not even close. KFC chicken does not have enough crunch to even be considered. Popeye’s cole slaw, Cajun fries, red beans and rice, baked beans, and biscuits. KFC does at least win with mashed potatoes but that’s about it.

Hi

I’m from Canada, so I never had a chance to go at Popeye’s, but the red beans side dish caught my interest.

And seriously guys, DO try this at home!! It’s sooo good!!

No wonder the women who cook it is morbidly obese
