well if he couldnt do 135 then he probably couldnt put up 185 could he?
185 is the BP test weight at the NBA combine.
Why? I stopped following BB years ago, but why do they need to bench? Has something changed since I stopped watching?
its just a test of strength. The NBA combine is pretty weak (compared to the NBA) but teams still want to know a base level of strength, speed, quickness, agility.
Why do QB’s and Kickers do the BP in the NFL combine? Cause owners, scouts and coaches just want to know lol
I watch the NFL combine on NFL network every year, I have yet to see a QB or kicker to BP, they always pass on it.

I think with the NBA the bench press part of the combine doesn’t matter unless you’re a big man [power foreword, centres mainly].
If Kendrick Perkins couldn’t press 185 he’d be in deep shit, but a rail thin guy with the wingspan of Kevin Durant has nothing to worry about. Especially since Kevin Durant plays like Kevin Durant.
After being exposed to top of the line strength facilities and coaches, he could go from 185 to 315 in four years. But he didn’t

doesn’t need to, his training is all movement based, used to keep him healthy and get a little more explosive. The phx suns have the best system imo, basically keep the players healthy and pain free.

I thought from the thread title it was actor Kevin Durand! He’s 6’6 and about about 250 I’d guess so he could likely bench 315.
He’s the one next to Russell Crowe. He’s one of those actors that we’ve all seen but nobody but his mom, and me, know his name.
He was Keamy the mercenary in Lost and was Little John in the latest Robin Hood.
Kevin Durand has said in interviews that he loves training but he has to consciously keep his weight down for roles. It’s a sad state of affairs when nobody cares but Nard, Kev Durand’s mom and myself.

Without checking I’m sure some weird woman has a fansite dedicated to him.
I remember drinking with a buddy once talking about actors we think people barely know/remember and Marc Singer came up. My buddy said nobody would remember that guy so later we checked in the net and there were TWO unofficial fansites for him!
David Buehler Of the Dallas Cowboys benched 225 25 times at the Combine, he’s also one of the fastest guys on the team

You are correct sir that he did do that, I am remise for forgetting the soon to be cut kicker for the Cowboys. However fastest guys on the team is a ffffffaaaaarrrrr stretch. You do relize he is white?
Not the fastest but he’s up there he went to SC to play line-backer not kick actually

I know and he actually does not sit back on kickoffs and be the safety. He runs down on all kicks. He is a good kid with a lot of talent, he is just not a elite field goal kicker.
I spot a guy on a regular basis who benches 315lbs and LOOKS the part. What a waste of a video to put on youtube.

Exactly what I was thinking!
As to the question of whether it’s real, the giveaway for me is when he sets it back down the supports. With his wrists almost cocked back like that, and the way the bar almost floats back down even with such an awkward path – there is no way that was actually 315.

No no no, it was fake from the point of taping where you cannot see the whole bar in the shot.

Didn’t Brady Quinn put up some decent bench numbers at the combine, back when he was there?

Ah yes. Marc ‘The Beastmaster’ Singer…I was going to ask what happened to him, but I hear that he’s due to cameo in the new ‘V’ series.
Singer is a really strange surname for an actor.
It’s like an actual singer being called ‘actor’.
^^ Yeah, talking about weird names, I know a girl with the last name Polloway. A long time ago she had a boyfriend called Paul. When she dumped him I said that her name sounded like a spray to repel guys called Paul, like Paul-Away.
Groan.
