Speaking of growing a pair, I was driving behind a pickup truck with a pair hanging down the other day. My daughter was in the car with me and just couldn’t quit giggling. Neither could I. But seriously. Why affix scrotum to the back of your pickup truck?
Not to derail the thread but I have to share this.
Week after Thanksgiving we were putting up the Christmas tree and found that a string of lights were busted, so me and the 8 year old go out to get some. I’m at a light behind this truck with a dozen bumper stickers, all pretty raunchy. Just as I was thinking “I hope 8yo doesn’t read that”, I hear her start reading one out loud.
I go “Ya ya blah blah blah” I said don’t read that it’s not very nice. She never got past the second word out loud.
So we get to the store and she says “Papa, I can’t get that sticker saying out of my head”.
Hoping she didn’t really read/remember the whole thing, I kneel down so I’m face-to-face and I say “OK, what do you think that sticker said?”
She looks at me with these big blue eyes and little innocent voice and says “How about a nice big cup of Shut the Fuck Up!”
I burst out laughing and told her not to say that any more. LOL.
Extremely humorous. There are so many rank bumper stickers out there. I should mention that it was a woman driving the pickup truck with the pair hanging down.
MJ, I plan to do a meet in March. There is one local, but I might actually travel this time to do another one. We shall see.
Extra workout today. Wife made an appointment at the gym childcare for the 6 month old, then decided she wasn’t going. I think this was a test to see if I had the emotional capability to handle both the 6 month old and 4 year old.
calve raise 5 x 20
wide pulldowns 5 x 10
reverse grip pulldowns 4 x 12
db shrugs 3 x 20
bent lateral 3 x 15
squat rack curls 4 x 10
hammer curls 4 x 12
elliptical 20 minutes
briefs, wraps to higher box
415 x 3, 505 x 2, 565 x 2, 605 x 2
raw to lower box 415 x 12 PR
working on form in the briefs, will lower box over next two sessions, and up the weight. all felt easy enough to build confidence and form
Only on here is this not a weird question…what briefs do you use? This may be a dumb question, but do briefs count as single ply or by using them is it automatically multi ply?
DF, tonight I was using a loose pair of Metal Pros. I have tighter Inzer Preds, and even tighter Metal Ace. These briefs are new and I bought them when my waist was about 4 inches bigger, i.e. 2 months ago.
All of these briefs are double ply. Only fed that I know that is ‘single-ply’ but allows briefs under suit is USPF, and they only allow those Inzer Groove briefs which are made only for pure sadists. If you want to try a pair I have some that would fit you, seriously I will mail them to you, I want them out of my house:)
You can order Preds, I believe, in single ply. This is if the combination of double ply briefs and double ply suit = more weight than you can unrack from the mono.
Powerliftingwatch has a great chart that lists all the feds and associated rules regarding gear, drug testing, etc. I know briefs aren’t allowed in USAPL.

Pure sadist huh? Well I have been known to be rough on myself. If youre serious, I’ll take em haha.
I do not know much about briefs in general, have never used em, and am mainly just curious. At the moment I only have a single ply squat suit and single ply bench shirt, and dont have the money to be buying more right now.
training in briefs is kinda like just training in you suit, straps down. DF, go ahead and PM me an address and I will get those out to you, at some point. My wife took it upon herself to wash all my PL stuff (I get wary with her being a stay at home now, can lead to mischief), so they will be clean:)
Snapper, I work hard to get one PR every heavy session, even if it is just a small one. Gives me the illusion of always making progress.
Up all night with spasms in my upper back. That and the 6 month old decided he didn’t want to sleep in his crib.
Still got up and did 30 minutes elliptical. Might try and see a chiro in a little bit.
My chiro buddy wasn’t around, he works at the gym right by work. While there figured I would do the following:
3 x 15 each of decline sits, leg raise, side bends, back extension.
Then sled sprints 90lb x 40 yrd x 10.
The parking lots have all been too icey for prowler, but they have astro-turf and a sled at this gym. Will try to work this in 2 x a week until we get a little thaw.

I kind of get all dewey eyed reading about all the gear. I have to admit I’d like to give multi ply a go but there just isn’t the volume of meets. Most of ours are IPF.
I really just breezed by here to see the 280lbs of bigger but the good kind of bigger. Where’s that at?
