Bipolar is a nice way of saying moron and rap should not be followed by artist.
That’s some bar you’ve set.
I disagree on both counts.
This is the only Kanye West video I’ve ever watched both in full and more than once. I consider it to be a work of art. The artist’s expression is very genuine, unique and thought-provoking. Like all art, you can take it or leave it.
The video might be amazing but the lyrics, I looked them up, could have been written by a 12 year old.
Maybe you’re right about the simplicity of the lyrics, but if you want to go down that route, most of your PWI posts could also have been written by a 12 year-old.
39 out of the 50 senior executives of the major labels are Jewish, that’s 78% so a large enough majority to be relevant in discussing the music industry.
Kanye is also not the first black artist to make this type of comment either and historically speaking there has been a divide in music between ‘blacks’ and ‘jews’ for close to a century.
Exactly the guys clearly got issues. The man said Slavery was a choice (imagine if he was white and said this). Should he have made those comments? NO. Is it an exaggeration to throw him under the anti-semetic banner? In my opinion yes
Something that has come to my mind with Kanye’s statements, is that many of the people who are complaining about what he said would also advocate for policies that reduce the amount of white people in executive positions. To me, it seems like inconsistent thinking.
I didn’t know @zecarlo was now deciding what is and isn’t art, haha.
I think it was his MAGA support that made people hate him. Now anything he does is automatically bad because he’s on the “wrong” side.
People still love his music. Every album he releases is eagerly anticipated and well received. Most people have not written him off for his political views, by any means. He’s just got some real mental health issues and giant ego. Not a good combo for saying things to make people like you.
That explains your anger.
I suppose in the age of my truth and everyone gets a trophy, we can’t make these sort of claims. I apologize for my good taste privilege.
He didn’t lose his business affiliations with Adidas and others at that time.
True. I guess no one messes with the Jews.
A Jew is still more likely to be the victim of a hate crime than any other demographic. The msm doesn’t like to report on that since it doesn’t fit their victim narrative.
Maybe Kanye is upset that he’ll never reach Rick Rubin’s level.
Naah…gays, women, disabled people, people on benefits, homeless people, rich people, Muslims, stupid people, gypsies etc etc all get way more abuse than Jews.
Attacks on Jews in NY were covered
plenty this past year.
That has a paywall but does it mention that Jews are victims of hate crimes more than any other group? Sure, anti Asian hate crimes were also reported but they tended to neglect who was committing many of those crimes. It wouldn’t fit the white supremacy narrative.
We are more likely to hear about BLM and trans rights as well as white supremacy and cultural appropriation than which group is more likely to be a victim of a hate crime.
No, it doesn’t. Nor do I recall any other articles covering attacks on Jews in which that was said. Are we the victims of more hate crimes than anyone else? I was unaware of this until now.
I recall the perpetrators of assaults on Asians in the past two years in NY being visible in videos and photographs, though the race of attackers was not mentioned, if I recall correctly.
