A little excerpt from one of his interviews
[quote] I don’t really count calories, and I honestly don’t hop on a scale that often. I just look at how I’m performing in my training and how well I’m recovering from it, and that’s how I adjust what I eat. If I’m not recovering, I know I’m not getting enough food, sleep or water.
Stay the Course
I follow a pretty similar diet all the time. I try to eat every 2-3 hours, so I’m usually getting 7-8 meals a day and each tends to be around 1,000 calories.
Meat Matters
I build everything around protein. I eat eggs for breakfast every morning, and the rest of my meals are based around meat. I tend to eat about 3 pounds of meat a day, spread over four meals.
Keep It Simple
For me, the easiest things to cook are the easiest things to eat, so that’s what I roll with. I tend to go with ground beef or ground chicken as a protein source.
Go Liquid
I also drink a lot of milk. At the very minimum, I’ll drink half a gallon a day, but I try to get closer to a gallon a day if I can. Before the Arnold I was doing whole milk, but now I’ve dropped it back to 2% it’s an easy way to get liquid calories.
