OK, back to week day high rep training and weekend high weight work. Still don’t know the whole direction I am headed, but I have this part down so far. One step at the time, I guess. For some reason, this morning’s training had a bit more of the old ‘snap’.Maybe it was the pea soup fog that wrapped the area over night. I did leave the gym pretty happy with my work.

Strange, but I’ve been there. It is amazing how iron really made such a difference in my finding myself again, just one improvement at a time.
Barbell complex: 4 sets 6 reps each with a measly 75 lbs
Treadmill interval: 15 minutes
I did an oly-pex this morning. Snatch grip deadlifts, power snatch, OH squats, snatch grip deadlifts and then a bent row. Worked the hell out of me and I thought I would die. Damn near did on the treadmill.
JW’s morning thought: If your gonna screw up, do it while you’re young. Older you get, the harder it is to bounce back.

Another round of ‘olyplexes’. Raised the weight 10 lbs and got a bigger harder ass kicking this morning. My traps are a little bit sore from yesterday. I don’t have good shoulder rotation with my snatch and finding balance in my OH squat is challenging. I think I’m going to order some chalk. It will probably piss them off in the gym but who is going to know at 4 am?

I say yay for the complexes. If you aren’t left panting and gasping for air, then you did them wrong. And, after a while, you start to like that feeling. At least I did.
For some reason I don’t even remember my alarm going off Thursday morning. I sure missed the hell out of that training day. Maybe it’s the daughter fighting the flu for the second time in 3 weeks. Maybe its this suckish weather we are having. I don’t know. I DID get up this morning and went in the gym. Did my Friday squat session. Nothing exciting to report jumped the weight up 10 lbs and made all my reps. I’m going to jump to 225 on Monday. Hit the gym scale the other day. I’m a portly 262. I am going to be back on track!

Suckish weather? Are you getting more snow?
We are. 1-2" today. More chances on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We need about 2’. Snow isn’t much fun when you have to work. Kids have been out of school since Monday. Wife is going nuts I reminder her that we have Jack Daniels, Vodka and Hot Damn in the cabinet.

Had a good chest and tri day. Nothing real remarkable about the training. I don’t think I am getting much out of the decline bench press other than it doesn’t seem to hurt my shoulders as bad. Trying to get heavy again with the incline DB’s hope it will work.

Trying to resume my ‘strong back weak mind training’. Don’t know if I am succeeding. Still it felt good to do some back work after a lay off of what seams like forever. Took the daughter on a shopping trip. she had money burning a hole in her pocket and wanted to buy some jeans. Dad was the chauffeur and then we had a gourmet lunch at the Dominic’s Sausage stand out side of Lowe’s. How’s that for a big spender Dad. I did pick up some carry out Pho for later and we chowed down on Vietnamese during the Super Bowl.

85 lb Oly-plexes this morning. I start with snatch grip dead lifts, to a whip snatch, to an overhead squat, and then to a bent over row. I just about threw up on the last set. Now it could have been where I was really working, or it could have been the beginning of the flu that is running through my household. I’m feeling fine now, so lets hope it is the former rather than the latter.
Thank goodness the sun is out for a day or 2. Looks like the weatherman is calling for more snow here on Thursday. I really hate winter!

I really got to try me a complex one of these days. Only thing stopping me is I’m so much weaker and dumber than every one else and Mom’s kinda…oops! wrong kinda complexes. Did the Vietnamese yell much when you chowed down on them?

Had a rough week with the funk swimming around the household this week. My fingers are crossed and I am wearing garlic to keep all the funky germs away from me. Didn’t make it to the gym Saturday and this morning. I was feeling awful lazy. I hope the warmer weather and the garlic will bring my mojo back and I can find some direction and consistency in my training.
