hey man, i was checking out your logs and saw that on cycle you had superb BP. Mine has skyrocketed since starting TRT, some other members have suggested water retention or being too fat. Atm my latest measurement was 138/ 86. I am taking beetroot and ubiquonol to help out; how did you control your BP while on what appeared to be a much more potent stack?
is this something that supplement daily even off cycle? I’m not opposed to taking another drug if i need to but if i can avoid adding another compound thats what i would prefer. Is it normal for BP to be elevated this much on TRT?
any suggestions would be great. I read the charts and literature from the other log, I just wonder if my body will be able to achieve homeostasis on its own or if I need to start manually regulating
I don’t have much for advice here; I’m natty and have never had BP problems.
I will say that you are actively seeking to avoid homeostasis given your training, diet, and AAS use… If your goal is to look better than the average joe, then homeostasis is the enemy. In context of your Blood Pressure regulating, however, I think the best thing you can do is to drink lots of water, avoid stimulants (like the pre workout you mentioned above), get enough sleep, and lose weight. These are hardly groundbreaking revelations, but that is about the extent of my knowledge on the subject.
Best protocol is always to address lifestyle changes first, then move to supplementation if lifestyle changes don’t do enough.
A bit of cardio goes a long way it seems. I just kinda do it as my lifting warm up now. 20-25 minutes walking at an incline. It also burns about 250 calories for me.
I wouldn’t call this panic level numbers, but probably something you want to try to get lower long term.
Pretty good advice IMO. The tadalafil is great for mid body pumps
I think conditioning should be the first line of defense. Cialis is good for about a 5 point drop in BP, which isn’t much, but I don’t get any sides from it in low doses.
I also am using low dose Telmisartan. I take 20 mg a day. It has numerous benefits aside from lower BP. Seems to improve lipid profile, IGF-1, lowers SubQ fat… I believe 20 mg is about half the starting dose, but it has my BP in a pretty good spot with the other things I do (cardio and Cialis). Mine has gone from like 140/90 average to like 125/80 average. Still need some improvement, but I think that is solid.
I would choose an ARB like Telmisartan over something like a beta blocker. I tried those, and even in the micro dose amounts I was using, they made me noticeably sluggish.
how would i source telmisrtan? is this something the clinic would prescribe? It really sucks not having a MD available. I also “restarted” my training cycle. I quit cardio and am going to slowly reintroduce over the next 150 days, increasing 1x HIIT + 1x LISS each week until Im doing cardio 4-5x a week and then increase intensity toward the end of the training cycle. I dont like having high BP as it makes me feel like shit and i would like to live past 50 lol
Yes, they may be fickle with you though (recommend weight loss, and cardio). They use a cutoff level for prescribing BP meds. I think it is around 140/90.
I source mine for very cheap from an Indian pharmacy that doesn’t check for an Rx. They just ask you if you have an Rx with a yes or no lol. I can’t link that place due to forum rules, but if you google along those lines, you will likely find it.
I recommend just start doing something regularly with your workout. It doesn’t have to be much, to build the habit of doing it. I would recommend that you just start with 15 minutes of LISS each workout. Don’t bump that time up until it is an automatic thing that you do. To many people go all in… for 2 week, then do nothing. Better to do something small consistently, and very gradually build up, then to go all out for a week or two and quit.
I think I found it. Could it be described as a measurement .com lol? Also, should i got ahead and begin to (in my best MPMD voice) “deploy this new ARB in the most efficacious dose” or try to bring it under control through lifestyle changes first?
Just want to say, that I do use stuff like Cialis and Telmisartan without a doctor. That does not mean you should. I understand I am taking risks doing so, and try to understand those risks as much as possible, and what to look out for.
I will tell you that if you want to dabble with BP meds, start very low on dosage. Doctors will do this as well. Start you low and add more as needed. You can google dosage guides, that will usually have a starting dose and a max dose. What I do is start at half the starting dose for at least a couple weeks. I wouldn’t feel comfortable using more than just the starting dose as a long term dose without a doctor.

I had zero issues during the workout but as soon as I got home I had a mild shortness of breath feeling. Felt like i could only get 90% of the air I needed. Still kinda bothering me. any advice would be appreciated
I feel like each time I come into the thread a new drug or supplement is being introduced. Might be worthwhile to pick a baseline of stuff and run it straight for a while and see how you react.
