Where was John Stewart when Katie Couric and John Gibson were gleefully editing their interviews with Palin? Were his interns too busy watching Fox News to catch that?

Have you seen the entire interview transcripts?

That was a willful, malicious hatchet job if there ever was one.

John Stewart actually commented on his show a few days back on how much of a hatchet job that interview was.

Ah yes, excellent timing. A year after the election is a perfect time to blow that whistle.

That’s OK, Fox will feel free to use the footage at any point and claim it was the previous day.

FOX didn’t use the footage as news. When you’re all big it may sink in that there is a difference.

Oh so anything on the Fox News channel that isn’t actually part of the news section is fiction?

Unbelievable… really. No, it means it isn’t news and Fox doesn’t present it as such.[/quote]

So it is fine for them to make things up in order to drive a viewpoint that when repeated by the general public they will then report in their news section as news?

So is it fine for The Daily Show, ABC, CBS, The Huffington Post, New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, and NBC to make things up?

no, it is not fine for any media to make something up and present it as a fact.

So I assume you will be posting a thread soon expressing your outrage over the regular fabrication and misrepresentation of news by the aforementioned media outlets.

This one is especially good at showing how deceitful and malicious ABC was in their editing process:

good post. thanks esp. for the newsbusters link. pretty horrific what they did there.

It’s bad when anybody knowingly misrepresents the truth in their quest to advance an agenda. Hannity is guilty. That’s just the way it is. However that still isn’t the same as editing a vice presidential candidates remarks in an effort to discredit them. I’d be interested to see the transcript of Hannity’s interview with Michael Moore who is a slab of liberal meat just hanging there waiting to be devoured. However I thought Moore came away from that piece largely unscathed even from what we did see. I do also think though that Moore, who has no problem making himself heard would have said something by now had there been a hatchet job like ABC and Gibson did on Palin.

I didn’t start this thread, I just commented on it, but yes I will happily post examples of ridiculous left wing manipulation of the facts as well. For me it is not about which wing it is from (where I to vote in the US I would probably vote Republican), it is about the declining journalistic standards.

Well… isn’t that nice? I’ll take you at your word until you prove otherwise and assume there is a spark of consciousness in there after all. I agree. Deception in pursuit of an agenda by anybody (almost always) is distasteful at best and horrendous at worst. It isn’t credible to reserver disdain only for those we disagree with.

Couldn’t agree more
