WAAAAYYYY off topic here. I had a huge blow-out with my 9 year old son about his jeans this morning. He is very tall and skinny. We have to buy him Levi’s with the adjustable elastic waistbands and make them as tight as possible in the waist.
He thinks they look rediculous because the pants kind of balloon out (the baggy jean thing hasn’t caught on in rural Georgia).
Anyone know who makes jeans for tall skinny kids? I’ve tried several brands, but they are either long enough but too big in the waist or fit in the waist but too short.
Sorry, just kidding. If you really want something that will fit, you could try getting some emo jeans.
Sorry to tell you, and they won’t be cheap, but it sounds like he has the dimensions. They can still be guys jeans but they will look a little fruity.
Most of the boutique stores in a mall will have the type. Either that or go online. Personally I’d stick with baggy but those are the only two options I see.
Have you tried the original fit Levi’s 510’s? Before I started lifting I was ~5-11 and 130lbs and that’s all i wore. I wish I could find some relaxed fit button fly jeans.
He’s only 9 and about 4’10" tall and 67 pounds. No emo pants for him, but he is starting to care about his appearance. He hates the baggy look. He used to wear kids Levi’s 8/10 slims, but now he needs about a 12 slim and I can’t find them anywhere.
He’s so skinny that slim jeans fit like relaxed jeans fit regular kids. The growth chart says he’ll eventually be about 6’4" and if he stays this skinny he’ll be about 160lbs…and he hates basketball. Football is his sport. Anyway, we’re hitting the mall tonight to find him something.
try a brand called Energie. They are made by miss sixty and are extremely slim fitting. Some pairs i have to size up almost 3 sizes because of the cut on them.
I just did a quick search on eBay and got about 30 different options, including those being sold in the eBay stores. If you’re not big on eBay, Amazon also has them:

I am definately more sympathetic to my kid’s personal sense of style than my parents were, but without being totally subservient to his wants. I wore “Toughskins” and “Wrangler” when I was about his age bacause they were cheap. This was when guys absolutely had to wear Levi’s and girls wore Jordache (the early 80’s expensive designer jeans explosion). Took my fair share of ridicule.

For sure, but the knees in your jeans were double-reinforced and matched the jacket that came with them.

I damn near cried when the hardware store stopped carry Saddle King britches and I found out I might have to buy pants at a clothes store.
Also, the best pair of jeans I ever had were when I worked for a well driller and we got “Doble Knot” brand jeans for our uniforms.
