now I’m confused, the guy in the videos I posted definitely is the same guy as sincityiron. just compare the videos and see. he benches the same (besides a bigger arch now) and looks the same

I’ll end the quote box’s before it gets too out of hand. Don’t even think sincityiron has competed or theres no obvious videos of it anywhere if he has (be cool if I was wrong). Last I remember from his thread he said like 600~ deadlift/squat but training priority was big bench. Definitely feel I’ll have a period of focusing hugely on getting a much bigger raw bench whilst maintaining squat/deadlift.
First picture of 2012. 190lb morning weight. I seem to have gained a bit in arms and delts which were my two weakest areas. Took these in five minutes on a terrible webcam camera in less-then perfect lighting with ghost skin. 40lbs and I’ll be the next blackagger
Funny thing was, just before I took this, bio-impendence (?) scales measures me at over 21% bodyfat. OH SO ACCURATE. I assume much closer to 12%…
@spar: muchos appreciated from the big guy himself @phlegms: if im honest i think most of the improvement is from very consistant and heavy/hard posterial/lateral work, using exercises that work great for me (namely heavy seated db laterals w/feet up on bench & fairly heavy inc. bench rear delt raises) for awhile now. For my weight I’m as strong as I’ve ever been across the board though, and to be honest, short of the squatting, I’m thereabouts or exceeding where I was 8lbs heavier
CANT WAIT TO TRAIN CHEST/BENCH TOMORROW MORNING! Get the urge when I’m forced to have days off… get it strongly
bugeishaAD wrote:
Definitely bigger than I remember. On to 200lbs!
Awh man, means a lot coming from yourself. Now I have to get that 200!
Trained in my home gym again in the midst of exams and essays:
Chest/Bench: 531, Cycle 3, 5 Week
Bench Press
75/165 x 5 - 80/176 x 5 - 85/187 x 9 (+1 rep from cycle one, cycle two I went too heavy/messed up)
Bench Press - Boring but big
80/176 x 10 - 80/176 x 7 - 75/165 x 9 - 70/154 x 9 - 70/154 x 7
The amount of chest pump/burn I feel from just benching is unreal, guess I’m a “chest bencher” (but then when I CGBP I find it to be all tris despite only a hands width difference)
Not amazing strength today, but first thing in the morning training. I’m very confident I will be able to increase my max after my 3 & 1 weeks this time.
Killer Progress man. See you post often in a lot of the logs I post in, and seem to be like me; just trying to get bigger/stronger and get advice from the big guys.

New pics look legit man. I’ll be following
Sweet, a new reader. But seriously, it is pretty cool to have people checking in. I will give your log a read through tomorrow night, checking tnation is not allowed anymore tonight. need to do “school” work badly
IM BACK PROPERLY. After finally handing in everything for Uni. Was eager to kill it first full session back:
Leg Day- 5/3/1 w/BB assistance: Cycle 3, 5 week
Anderson Squats (beltless)(in converse)
60/132 x 4 - 100/220 x 2 - 140/308 x 1 - 160/352 x 1 - 180/397 x 1 PR - 200/441 x F < WTF @ Spar4tee, I wasn’t expecting above 500lb really but 850 dude?? 850? #iquitweightlifting
-oly shoes on-
Olympic Squat 5/3/1 (only belted exercise)
100/220 x 5 - 107.5/237 x 5 - 115/254 x 10 < felt good today
Hack Squat (a2g & pause on pins)
1pps x 10 - 1+1/2 pps x 8 PR - 2pps x 2 PR
Power Squat (thx Evan)
1pps x 6 - 2pps x 6 - 3pps x 6 - 4pps/397lb x 5 “PR”
converse back on -
DB SLDL (beltless)
135s x 6 PR < called it, back felt weird
Leg Extension/Lying Leg Curl SS (no rest)
8 x 3/25kg x 15
7 x 6/25kg x 11
6 x 4/25kg x 9
Really enjoyed today, may still not have hit widowmaker-like figures with my 5 week squat, but they did feel good. Would love to hit similar reps in my 3 week, I feel like I’ve set myself up well for it this time round. Andersons squats would have served as a great activation had I not have failed a rep and sapped some energy.
Much luv for hacks and power squats, going to miss them since I only have one more session at home now next week before I move back to Uni for 8-11 weeks or so…

I’m sure you most people could get twice their squat with practice.
I’m not sure how much ROM I was using, but it felt like half squat height as you mentioned. It could be a good training tool for learning to get perfectly tight and power through a static bar. Because of starting bottom up I found once I actually locked out the weights, they felt light on my back (despite the fact I’d never had past 330lb on my back before) and I did get mental carryover to how light the bar felt in the standard squats, if a little mid-back pain
I’ll probably try them again a good few times, would be very cool to have like 600 on my back.
spar4tee wrote:
Definitely play around with the ROM. You might be doing them a tad lower than I was. Raise the pins a slot and see what happens.
In this particular rack it was one of those that has two fixed squat unrack heights taking up a load of the pins so it was the equivilent to maybe 3 pins from the bar, if I try again I might try and get a rough video on my phone just for the sake of solving the issue easily.
