Yup! There’s a little push/pull meet in September that I am planning to do and then a full meet in November on the calendar. I’m hoping to crack 1450 or more in November!

I have been doing lots of DE work and it seems to be paying off. Gonna straight bar squat heavy a week from today and see where the squat is!

Are you going ot be competing single ply or Rawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww?

The guy I was talking to about Conjugate Method basaically told me not to even worry about DE stuff unless I think my actual form is suffering, and if not only do it a few weeks before a meet…seems to make sense to me…

Hehehe… In September I may compete as the denim warrior, but November will be RRRAAAWWWW with knee wraps.

Yeah, so I don’t agree with your informant about DE stuff but that’s ok. It’s more than just form work and since I have been doing it I have noticed several things that I can slightly alter to get more power/speed on all three lifts. Plus I think you can get faster just like you can get stronger (maybe the progression curves are different though), so why not improve all facets the strength/power curve. I certainly understand that some folks can be ā€˜fast enough’ ie they are fast and strong and the added joint stress doesn’t help them. More power to them, but I am not one of them.

I feel you. This guy was actually Vince Urabank, so what he is doing obviously works for him. I guess he feels that strength is the key until you are actually prepping for the meet.

So you’re shooting for a 1450 raw huh? That is pretty impressive. That would breakdown to smething like 550-300-600…sound about right?

I’m pretty sure I’m doing 100% RAW Worlds at the end of October in Orlando. Goal for that meet is a 1550 total at the 275’s…something like 550-400-600 would make me very happy.

Floor press was feeling really good and I thought 300 was going to happen, but to no avail. First try I missed my groove second time I just stalled part way up. I seem to be stalling right when I flare my elbows. I am thinking that I need to do some three board work and speed off the chest work, so pause reps and three board.

Hey, I’m not sure if you’re already doing this on the floor press or not, but the best thing that I ever did for that was learn to clinch the shit out of my ass cheeks…like you are trying to avoid prison rape…don’t remember if I posted this in your thread or not before, so forgive me if I talk about prison rape too often…

I really like floor presses…they really helped me make the mind-muscle connection of ā€œleg driveā€ while pressing…before that, I could never feel what to do…but after some heavy ass floor presses, my ass and my legs knew what was up!

Thanks for the tip. I honestly don’t know if I do this or not, but will give it a go for sure.

Squatting was great today! PRs for all (whether big or small)! 20 pound PR for me. It wasn’t my prettiest squat. As a matter of fact it was possibly my ugliest ever!

I hope this isnt a stupid question, I am currently running 531 right now and I am making steady progress, but would it benefit me to try the conjugate method? I have been reading books on it and seems most of the stronger people on here do it, do you think I should give it a go, or continue on 531?
