I've Got A Bar And I'm Not Afraid To Use It - Pinkylifting Log

So, I guess it’s time to plan some bodyweight workouts.

Plan is to simply run a fully body A and B workout and rotate.

Equipment I have available is one kettle bell, one band, a 16kg vest and an ab wheel…

Workout A
Chest - Corner Dips
Back - SH KB Row

Shoulders - SH KB Press
Abs - Ab Wheel

Bis - KB Curl
Tris - KB rope tricep extension

Quads - KB Goblet Squats
Posterior Chain KB Swing

Workout B
Chest - Planche Push-ups
Back - Banded Rows

Shoulders - HSPU
Abs - V-ups

Bis - Band Hammer Curl
Tris - Band Pushdown

Quads - Pistol Squat
Posterior Chain - Air Sprinters

Plan is to wear the vest for everything.

The CrossFit stuff should’ve taught you some ways to suffer with minimal weight.

If I was looking to suffer I’d be set, fortunately I’m looking for stimulation, not pain haha or else I would just be scheduling Burpees.

I could see you and @kleinhound being good at parkour. I think that could be stimulating and still count as social distancing.

Parkour is the ultimate zombie apocalypse sport. What better time than now?

Surely that’s axe throwing? I’ve only been once but I was pretty damn awesome at it if I say so myself.

Perhaps I should find a way to incorporate some sort of hammer swinging exercises into my training, you know for specificity.

The problem with throwing the axe is now the other person has an axe? Also doesn’t seem great for hunting. I’d prefer a spear. Easy to construct. Services as a walking stick. If something quadrapedal charges at you all the work you need to do is get the tip to hit it before the animal hits you.

if you throw is hard enough, they may have an axe, but they are certainly in no position to use it eh.

But no I agree a spear or, resources willing, a glaive / ahlspeiss would be more functional.

Certainly, my disinclination is guided by presuming I have zero axe throwing proficiency. To me a gun seems pretty simple in comparison to axe-throwing, but somehow people miss their target anyway. Throwing an axe seems much more involved, and if I miss — unlike a bullet — there is the potential for re-use. Assuming the other individual learns from my mistake and decides to use the throwing-axe as a hold-in-hand axe I’d be fucked.

I never heard of Ahlspiess before, that seems like a really solid bet. All the zombie movies have taught me that blades are bad because blades get stuck so not super-fond of the glaive. It might make someone reconsider though.

See someone with a spear, an assailant might go “that person might not know what they’re doing” but if they spot someone with a glaive it’d be justified to think “Damn, that person is beyond equipped and probably knows how to use that thing”. Although, another interpretation might be “look at this renaissance fair buff”.

So first improv session.

The illness, or just a illness?

Solid nope lol

Just an illness rather than The Illness I think. No core symptoms, but the ‘potential’ symptoms list is so long I could well have had a very unlikely expression
