Genetics for performance at low body fat? Larry Wheels comes to mind
Habits, lifestyle and pharmaceutical choices for performance at low bodyfat
If you’ve ever done a CrossFit workout then you know it’s in line with HIIT. That’s pretty good for shedding fat as long as you don’t hit the buffet after each session.
Consider these guys and gals do several HIIT sessions per day and it’s not a stretch to stay lean while performing well. They’re still able to eat to fuel their body. Cutting probably isn’t a priority and being lean is a byproduct of their training. And with multiple sessions a day, it’d be tough to eat bad even if you wanted. You’d regret it soon after.
Agree with the second part, to the extent that thy probably don’t have to go out of their way to stay lean, and agree with the first part IF were talking amateurs. When we’re talking people making a living from CF, then yes the competitive advantage from staying lean is a priority. Luckily, as you said, their training lends itself to staying lean. But if they started gaining a little fat they would adjust to prevent it.
Yeah, they definitely don’t eat like slobs. They eat like bodybuilders. Im guessing they just don’t have to worry about being hungry.

Did you make your own programming for CF? Or are these workouts coming from somewhere?
The actual CrossFit sessions are the WOD at my local box. The accessory workouts are sessions stolen from CTs 10 week developmental Olympic block.
I can’t do all 5 sessions per week, so I take 2 or 3 of the Olympic ones.
Cool. Work toward any skill-based movements besides barbell movements or can you doing handstand pushups and muscle ups by sheer strength?
I can do hand stand push-ups for reps aslong as I have one leg against a wall, can’t balance freestanding.
I can power through a few muscle ups if I’m fresh, a couple of sets of 3 is my best.
At the moment I’m focusing on learning clean and snatch, but muscle ups are on the to-do list. Unsupported handstands are more nice to have than need to have.
Made the mistake of looking at what today’s WOD is in advance. Cannot explain how much I don’t want to go and do that much conditioning

that looked like a horrible WOD.
Well done completing
It sucked hard. But was kinda awesome.
That would take me 30mins just for one round of the skipping.
It was supposed to be double unders, but I can’t do those loom I guess I did the easy version of the wod
Single unders are a bit outside my comfort zone. How do you scale back from single unders?
Well, In the classes you do plate jumps. Literally just lay a bumper plate on the floor, jump on and jump off as fast as you can.
