"It's Just the Flu, Bro!"

Thanks for the link.

My friend used to work at this place.

The number of cases at my place of work is growing by the week. As said before, my previous place of work had 54 deaths the last time I checked.

THANK YOU for the article, @H_factor!

I knew something just wasn’t right. I just haven’t seem Flu decimate whole nursing homes; kill members within a family at the same time; or overwhelmed ER’s and Intensive care’s the way COVID-19 has.

The other thing guys…COVID-19 is just leaving so much more residual damage than the Flu, even after someone has recovered.

Also, NYC does not lose over 100 doctors and nurses yearly to the flu.

The Spanish flu killed the large majority of my grandmother’s family and left her an orphan.

But that was a Real pandemic, not like this…

Oh, yeah… Woops.

Welp, we’re at 66,000 deaths, and for the umpteenth time, we’re missing a bunch of these deaths because of undertesting and we won’t be able to count these deaths for months so it’s likely much higher than that, and people are still chirping about the flu and making sarcastic jokes about the 'Rona, so there’s pretty much nothing at this point that’s going to change their minds.

They’ll just go from, it’s basically just the flu to it’s basically just a bad flu to…

But on the bright side, those people are a minority. Unfortunately, Trump’s base is that minority.

I just got a text half an hour ago from a former girlfriend that her mother, aged 61, died yesterday from C-19. She was overweight, not obese, and had not one other comorbidity.

Aside from the silly flu references and underestimating of this condition I read on social media a sentiment for a sort of Conan-the-Barbarian tough-guy spiel, like a sort of edgelord purgative fantasy. “It’s survival of da fittest bro! We’re overdue!” “It’s attacking old people only months away from dying!” I’m glad I disabled both IG and FB.

My daughter just graduated from med school in NYC and is working there taking care of Covid cases before she goes to residency. It’s pretty hard on her.

It is good to hear a report of someone qualified willing to go in and do it.

Congrats! What residency is she going to do?

Nah. I even had one distant family say that I was just a scared asshole who ruined his own health and now expects everybody to change, and everybody who is in a risk category should have taken better care of themselves.

For the sake of not going to prison, we won’t be having Christmas with them.

It’s going to be a rough introduction. I’ll be praying for her. Keep healthy

Wow! ENT is one of the toughest matches there is–matching anywhere in it is really difficult. And on top of that, Michigan is a top tier program. So a doubly-impressive match. You must be super proud. Congrats again to her, and you.

You are the apotheosis of good sense for doing so.

Only if apotheosis mean “torn between acting out the lyrics of a Slayer song on him, and not.”.

Alas, it does not. We should coin such a word though. You want to raining blood him? Hmm, leave this with me, there has to be a verb to describe this.

More of a jumble from Seasons in The Abyss.

Little bit of Born Of Fire type mood lately toward people with this attitude. Then maybe a few parts of the song “Seasons”.

That pretty well describes my current thoughts/aggression level.

Seasoning!

Like a burger!

eg. “When they finally ran into each other SkyzykS seasoned him like ground chuck. It took hazmat 2 weeks to clean up after.”.
