Back feels okay after this little session, so yay!

Now to go get my cardio bunny on

Day off today. Back and knees still feel pretty good. Better than they have in a while. Had an appointment with my PT today and he said he’s seeing major improvement  I have a feeling that I only have a couple more visits before he pushes me out the door and stops taking my money. Today included acupuncture. He stuck needles in my ass, IT band and traps. Fun times :stuck_out_tongue:

I spent way too long at work today but there was stuff I just wanted to get off my desk. Sadly, that work stresses me out a lot because I get to see some seriously stupid mistakes and it frustrates me to no end that people DON’T ASK QUESTIONS! It’s bad enough that I have this little voice in the back of my head saying it would be easier if I just do it myself instead of hurling myself at the brick wall that is the learning curve of the person I’m dealing with. I can only do so much in a day and there are very few people that have proven themselves competent enough to do the rest. Frustrating.

Macro breakdown for the day:
1545 calories
43% fat (74g)
49% protein (182g)
8% carbs (30g)

Weight: 145.2# Woot!

Damn the office! There were cookies everywhere today but I survived! I hid from them and drank lots of water and my yummy shake. Mmmm. Just have to keep my goal in mind - being able to fit into the pants I bought at the start of the year again.

My PT just started the needling thing too, just before he works me over. I don’t know why but I like getting them stuck in me & even pulled out (er ok that sounded a bit dirtier than I wanted it to).

Stupid office goodies, do you have any good snacks you can keep with you instead? I find I have to munch on something.

I’m doing an experiment too and keeping net carbs at 50 to see how I do. I’ve been tOO generous with veggies…those carbs DO add up!! blushing

great to hear you are feeling better!!

tech: Ahahahahahahahaha! That was absolutely dirty  It always feels weird when he taps it in then twists it a little bit. Tingly. Ummm, that sounds dirty too.

MiM: It’s definitely all about the quality and type of carbs you eat when it comes to veggies. I’m going after the green veggies which are very fibrous, so any carb value really associated with them is null because our bodies can’t do a whole lot with fiber. Green onions, broccoli, zucchini, cucumber, spinach, romaine lettuce… all awesome and totally guilt free for me.

Macro breakdown for the day:
1640 calories
45% fat (82g)
47% protein (186g)
8% carbs (33g)

Weight: 146.2# (I expected this kind of fluctuation. I didn’t eat supper until almost 8 last night and I normally eat at 6.)

Did cardio before I went to work today. That was a different experience. My body isn’t used to moving that much in the morning and it took a couple minutes to find a groove. Good news is 30 minutes is feeling like a breeze right now. Thank you TV and your zoning out effects.

Going to finish the day with my knee and back rehab. I am so happy with how my knees feel. I’m not going to go overboard with exercises yet, though. I’ll finish out the year with lots of cardio, my rehab, and a day or two a week at the gym doing rack pulls and upper body work. Time to throw in body weight squats again, mayhap

needles in the ass? and I thought I knew kink

glad to know things are going well with your knees.

go get those squats!

It’s all about being kinky in this log

Double workout today!! My mom is going to be in town for the weekend and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to drag her to the gym with me or not so I tried to get more done today.

Early morning cardio: 30 minutes on the elliptical. Getting easier to do this

Traveled to the gym to do a circuit:
Hamstring curls x 10 (Started out light and added weight for each set. Slow, full ROM for this.)
BW squats x 10 (Did these very slow and full ROM - ass to ground. I noticed an instant difference in my squat form from all the auxiliary and rehab work I’ve been doing to fix my knees. Awesome!)
Band rows x 20
kb swings: 25x10
modified mountain climbers x 20

Did this 5 times, hit the sauna and I was done.

Some people are totally clueless in the gym. I did my entire circuit right by the hamstring curl machine and while I was doing kb swings a woman came up and started using the machine. I had my band wrapped around one of the bars and everything. Once I was done the swings she kind of looked up at me with a shocked expression and asked if I was using the machine… Ummmm, yeah. I just like throwing my stuff all around a machine then not using it :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t mind people working in on machines but how can you be that clueless?

Woot woot! Nice job on the double dipping! Hardcore, for sure. Sometimes its nice to get some training in 2x a day. When there’s energy to spare, I say go for it.

And yay for good feeling knees!! Great job being consistent with the knee and back rehab. I tip my hat to you m’lady, well done.

Hilarious on the random gym goer getting in the way of your kb swings. I have to admit, I’m always in everyone’s way at the gym…Its not them, its me

Have fun with yer ma!

Thanks Masch  It’s definitely starting to feel like all the work I’m putting in is paying off. Amazing how all these little movements can help correct stuff.

I didn’t write this down but my weight yesterday was 145.8#. My macros got screwed up yesterday as we went to Red Lobster. I stuck to the essential rules of my diet, emphasizing the protein and good fat and minimizing the carbs but I know I ate more than I should have :stuck_out_tongue: Woke up to 146.2# today, so not that bad overall.

Workout:
20 minutes on the elliptical
Knee rehab
Back rehab

Was planning on dragging my mom to the gym today but driving her around for 4 hours has taken all the energy out of me.

I’m trying to keep today on spec as tomorrow I have an office safety meeting lunch. It’s a buffet so I have control of a lot of what goes on my plate. Must be strong and avoid the dessert stations!

yes I know about the veggie/carbs.

But I was eating POUNDS of veggies daily. Pounds! lol

factor in oatmeal, and pwo carbs and I wasn’t really “low-carb,” anymore.

your doing GREAT!!

Lol! MiMs, how bad can a pound of veggies be?! Vegetable bloat is probably the worse it can do to you.

Pixie, great work on staying the course with the eats! I have a similar problem in that I don’t eat technically bad, I just eat A LOT! Its pretty gross really. But I don’t know what to do about it. Eat slower? Take 20 mins after round one to see if I’m still hungry? Just, you know, use will power? Meh!

As always lovingly say to my friend Grace, “put the cake down fatty” lol! May that echo in your mind today

It’s those cheese/garlic butter biscuits…

They’re EVIL!

Be patient with the rehab.

There will be advances and setbacks.

The body does emergency repairs to make sure you can survive (move, find food, etc) then goes back and does more permanent repair.

The gym certainly attracts its own breed of weirdos…

double dipping workouts at this time of year!? yup def hardcore.

MiM: Okie, POUNDS of veggies might be a little much

Masch: I’ve found lemon water is my friend. I try to drink at least 5-6 liters of water a day. It keeps the food cravings down because you have no room left for food! So yeah, try to drink a couple glasses of water when you eat and it’ll help you eat less. And yes, I’ll here that ringing in my head today as I pass by the dessert station. Thanks!

2busy: Oh, I avoided those. It was the lobster stuffed mushrooms that I mowed through  Those things are evil!

Mainy: I’m my own kind of crazy during the holidays  It’s so much easier to push myself to do this stuff when I don’t have to worry about anyone else, too. Yay being single!

Yesterday’s Macros:
1545 calories
43% fat (74g)
49% protein (182g)
8% carbs (30g)

Weight: 145.2# Oh water. You are my true friend.

Morning workout:
30 minutes on the elliptical. Sweaty. 'Nough said. I’ll do my rehab in the afternoon.

We’ll see if Masch’s reminder echoes loud enough in my head today

Another one dieting around Christmas! Good job on the loss so far - I always have water by me but perhaps I should try drinking more. Do you squeeze the lemon into it or just have it with a slice?
Lobster stuffed mushrooms sound gooood. Good job we don’t have Red Lobster in the UK.

Masch, you’ll be happy to know the echoes of being called a fatty kept me away from the dessert table

I hope no one actually called you a fatty and they’re just those crazy, inner echoes that women get.

Good luck with your dieting. Give me all your food! hah

Dani, this is what I was referring to  Nobody really called me a fatty or I would have decked them. Then gone home, put on some comfy clothes and cuddled with my big stuffed animal for comfort

Guys get them too.
