I got to finally watch the vids…
Very awesome!

Almost like Warrior Dieting…you graze on lo fat dairy, small amounts of berries etc through the day then have a really big meal at night. (more to it than that)
Carb loading the night before makes sense though!!
I just don’t think I train hard enough to ‘use,’ the carbs.
I have a copy of keifer’s book too. I’ll be really curious to see how you do with the diet. I’m flirting with trying it, but he also says it’s not for me–you know someone who loves the steady state cardio. And honestly, his disdain for cardio and the way he writes about women kind of turns me off.
I don’t care about your science. YOu sound like an arrogant prick to me. Sorry. This could be my first post in your log and I’m ranting!
Seriously, good luck with the diet. I think it has a solid foundation. And I’m looking forward to reading about your success with it.
Nadia: Yeah, I kinda got the impression that he hasn’t met enough strong women. While I was reading that part I gave him the finger. Fuck you, Kiefer. I do more than a lot of the guys in the gym. Sadly, a lot of women perpetuate the viewpoint he has. I’ve never been super pumped about steady state cardio but HIIT I can get into. KBs are my friends ![]()
Glad to know I’m not alone in the fact that it pissed me off to see him write like that about women.

MiM: So someone training at 6am would carb load the night before to prep their body for the workout and then do the low-carb thing during the day and carb load again that night to prep it for the next workout.

Ok MIM-didn’t we totally discuss this like, months ago? This Keifer dude is totally lurking on us and making bank off of it! (i kid…i kid). But seriously, I remember us theorizing this.
There you go Pixie. You can rant in my log, and I’ll come gloat like a mofo in yours!
lula: Ahahahahahahahahaha! You’re welcome to gloat in here anytime ![]()
well, I hope it goes ok for you.
I have it engrained in my mind not to eat carbs after a certain time of day, UNLESS you train at night then the carbs come post workout.
Maybe once I get my own self working properly again I can mess around with different stuffs regarding diet.
Not sure if you mentioned this over the past 10 pages but where in Alberta are you from?? You are officially the first Alberta chick I’ve met on this site!! Very exciting stuff ![]()
MiM: Yeah, I know what you mean about the carb mentality. This is a complete shift for me and I’m excited/interested to see what happens. Took my weight and measurements today and I’ll see what happens over the next 10 days on the prep stage. Prep stage is low carb (30-40g max) and fairly low cal as well. I expect to shed water like crazy but we’ll see.
Spock: Sent you a PM ![]()
Well, starting day two of the prep phase. I find once I get past the initial hunger, since my body is still very used to having a big breakfast, I’m fine for the rest of the day.
I need to go grab a coffee now ![]()
so what was for breakfast?
![]()
coffee IS my breakfast.
SooOo for all you fellow low carb people, are ya eatin a shit ton of vegetables like I am? Does anybody actually COUNT the veggies for their macro’s? I find I NEVER feel deprived or shitty or anything low carbbin’ it as long as I eat tons of green stuff.
Good thing I am single though cause sometimes I’m gassy, HAH
P.S. Pixie, where is your favourite place to visit in Alberta? Just curious.
I like drumheller. ![]()

HA! I could have written this word for word. And NO, I don’t count green veggies. I figure if I keep it pretty consistent during the week and don’t notice anything astray, then that’s ok.
I think it will take someone hella special for me to eat my giant head of broccoli in front of.
Hi pixie. I do get distracted in here, aye?
MiM: Coffee
I’m just gonna have a little shake right now with a little protein powder and some MCT oil. Just enough to keep the body going without spiking insulin levels.
Spock: I like Jasper. Went there for the first time in a loooong while with a friend and did some hiking. Lots of fun and absolutely gorgeous out there ![]()
And yeah, green veggies are pretty much negligible in your macro count as they’re mostly fiber. Some green veggies do have a little bit of usable carbs but not enough to really sway the macros by any amount… unless you’re eating a pound a day. Then I might have to call you on it ![]()
Hai lula!
Bleh. That massage kinda hurt. My hamstrings felt like metal bars, my left ankle was supremely locked up and my back was a brick wall. The positive thing was my neck wasn’t as locked down as usual, so yay! He only made me try to crawl off the bed three times. I swear, I pay him to stop some days. Hell, I’d pay double if he’d leave my calves alone!
Did kb swings when I got home just to get the blood flowing a bit. Thinking of taking an epsom salt bath tonight to help remove all the toxins deep tissue massages throw into the system.
Damn a massage doesn’t sound relaxing AT.ALL. lol
a pound of veggies a day, that’s it?
I could take down 3-4lbs.
Just poking my head in here to say hi to a fellow Albertan knee rehabber. Hi!
Highland games looks like fun. You videos remind me of tossing the disc in high school.
There seems to be a lot of knee rehabbing going on in PW
Hi fellow Albertan! Enjoying freezing? Cause I sure missed this cold winter weather note sarcasm.
The stone throw would remind you even more so
Shot put, anyone? It’s one of the reasons why T&F people do well in this sport. Whereabouts do you live, if you don’t mind me asking?
I’m in Edmonton freezing my butt of right now. I was really enjoying the unseasonably warm winter we were having up until this week. I can’t do any of my preferred winter activities this year so I was perfectly fine with a mild, snow-less winter.
