So I had a funny little “nightmare” the other night. I was wrapping my coach’s knees at a meet and just couldn’t do it. Tried six times . . . all the while his name was being called, the clock was ticking, and he was yelling at me. Such anxiety I have about handling him at IPF Worlds in three weeks. Funny but it never dawned on me before that perhaps I get such a gain from my knee wraps because I have tiny little knees and get many, many wraps.
I’ve had night mares about getting to a meet and realizing I’d forgotten my gear. Oddly enough, I was chatting with a 20 year veteran lifter and she told me she did a meet about a year ago and forgot her singlet.
How is your programming set up ? What I mean is how is the progression set up? Westside style going for maxes all the timw or a more linear style over time?

Different programs for each lift. But right now it’s linear for squat and DL (my own programs) and pyramid style for bench (modified Gillingham).
I would love to try Westside sometime. But would need a facility and training partner(s) to do it, with all the whips and bands and chains involved.
With women I found the best way to get them strong is using ladders.
So I take 85% of their 1rm
Bench is 2xweek
deadlift 1x
sqaut 1x
So we go with bench needs to complete 4 ladders to progress.
week 1 day 1 85x1,2,3 =1 85x1,2=2 85x1,2=3 85x1,2=4.using 85 pds as are starting weight after warmups.
Then add in a 3 rep on the second wave in week 2 then add in a 3 rep in week 3 etc. so 85x1,2,3 85x1,2,3 85x1,2 85x1,2.(week 2)
The second day of benching should be a assistance exercise like inclines/cgp/ohp etc.
It would be worth it to fly you out to design my home interior and then dress me up and take pics of me. Truly, no talent do I possess in either of these arenas.
Any idea whether you’re going to make it to St. Kitts? I’m arriving on the 29th.
I really wish this would happen. Snap get a good pic up, please. For all that said how cute you looked have been punished long enough.

That’s right! I’m dying to use a barely appropriate compliment.

Can you imagine a photo shoot with Frenchy, O, and me? We’re all [hopefully] going to be in St. Catharine’s in three weeks.

I’ve been on vacation for the past 2 weeks. Before leaving there was a discussion if my company was willing to sponsore the event. I’d perhaps be going for the full week as a Rep: taking pictures and handing out goodies. I’d LOVE IT! But I didn’t get an answer yet. I’ll push for one Tuesday. If this falls through I might be able to make it a quick trip just to see J lift and say Hi… This should be settled next week.
Last night I swam 900 meters alternating freestyle and breaststroke.
Today was DL day.
RDL
8/45
5/95
Sumo DL
5/115
5/140
3/5/165
10/135
I can’t seem to keep my hips down with sumo any better than I can with conventional. Actually I do better after the first rep. But that’s the most important one since you can’t ask for best of three on the platform. Plus, I’m having serious pain in the hip flexor region since I started training this stance. Serious enough that I couldn’t squat after my DLs today. And that’s no good. No good at all since I really like squatting. I’d like to bag out on the sumos. But it’s too early in the experiment to do that.
Finished up with seated GMs, lat pulldown, weighted hypers, and planks.
Are you foam rolling your hip flexors? Also warm up with high rep pull throughs, and finish off with them too. My hip flexors take a beating too, and if I don’t roll/stretch and do things like pullthroughs, I can’t pull or squat with out a lot of pain in there.
Also as simple as it sounds a good walk really loosens them up.

i cant wait to do these tomorrow. For me just being sure to keep everything lined up with bar.(is it camera angle it looks like your leaned forward)Thinking press outside of feet into floor.Lets see if i can follow this tomorrow haha.always a challenge to learn a new move.
edit not leaned forward, arms a little in front of bar.Do you practice just that set up with the camera? Ill probably try that first.
