^^ holy war, my ass.

Under the feudal system, the lords (knights) were parasites living off peasants and undermining the Kings’ profits. The Kings and religious blue bloods got tired of this and sent them all to pillage another region of the world.
How did the Holy Wars get started?
probably in a religious context, but it was a very political movement to reform the Christian church and an opportunity to get rid of knights that decentralized a Lord and King’s power economically and militarily.
Wrong answer.

Try again.
Simple answer: Islam was spread by the sword throughout the middle east and eventually into europe.

Let me ask you this though, how did the holy wars end?

Why?

But I guess that’s more accurately “letting people die” in the name of ideology, huh?

That is conseuentialist nonsense, you are not responsible for other people dying unless you kill them yourself or your government does it in your name.

But this statement is so classically you (and Austrian?) that I just had to quote it.

I look forward to the day when you, your family, your friends, your town, or your country desperately need the help of someone in some way stronger… and that person thumbs his nose at you and waves goodbye.
Yeah well that is still way better than when the same “stronger” country arbitrarily decided that I am “in need” and bombed the shit out of my country to “help” me.

Like any other busybody you use an altruistic pretext to exert control.

And that is the last thing I would need if I was in serious trouble.
Ah, no, Orion.

We bombed the shit out of your country because the Jews and much of Europe were being persecuted and murdered by your Nazi grandparents.

And those folks were quite grateful to us, BTW.

See how that works?
First of all you hardly bombed Austria compared to Germany.

Then, that was no exactly the reason, your politicians itched to interfere whereas your people did not care, so Roosevelt did everything shy of flipping the Tenno to make Japan attack you and he succeeded.

Which is when most Americans decided that this threat must be ended, now that it had reached them.

Had you wanted to take in the Jews you could have done so in the early thirties, buy you did not.

You could have taken in those on the last ships that were able to escape, yet you did not.

You sent them back to Germany.

So, somehow I am having problems with seeing anything noble minded in any of this, though it sure was nice for the remaining Jews that you came around eventually after the Red Army did all the heavy lifting.

However, that was not the point.

You claimed that you “helped” those nations.

I claim that you never do, you just claim that to hide naked aggression.

Maybe you should read “De Bello Gallico” from a dude named Gaius Julius Caesar, he is pretty candid about how he managed to get asked to “help” so often.

Chushin = a prejudiced ignorant ass who makes snide comments instead of real arguments.

Seriously, why are you you even wasting your time posting on this topic if all you say is “haha, try again loser”? It’s an insult to waste my time and others patience with your prejudiced garbage if you won’t even try to make a valid point. Man up and make a point or shut up and stop hiding behind petty insults and ignorance.

Were we err is on the interpretative side of things. This has been the historical flaw of radical Islam.
Uh, no. They’re, “the radicals,” interpreting Islam correctly. It’s our good friendly muslim friends who aren’t living up to snuff. My hope is that they’ll continue to follow the faith in such a mistaken manner. Or, maybe they’ll tack some update onto the religion. Muhammad part II, or something. As of now, there’s no abrogating Medina-Muhammad, who left a Military-political ideaology behind. Calling someone prejeduice over this is like calling someone prejeduice for disliking Naziism. Oh great, you know some good Nazis who don’t seem to understand their own ideology? So?

Yes, yes, “but the crusades! The inquisition!” Man will corrupt everything he touches, to some degree. But between the two, Christianity and Islam, one has an example of peace to fall back onto when it’s followers do realize they’ve gone far afield of their faith. This is indisputable. Noone, noone, argues that Christ sent out his apostles to kill, collect a tax, or subjugate. “But the old testam…” Shut up. Seriously, address the proper audience in these posts. We’re not Jew escaping slavery and trying to carve out some nation so we can give up our nomadic, on the run, lifestyle. Christians are bound to spread their faith as Christ instructed his apostles. If anyone is unsure of what manner of instruction Christ transmitted to his apostles, in the terms of spreading the faith, and in dealing with rejection…don’t post. Just, please, spare us all.

Anything else is man’s folly, having nothing to with Christ’s expectations. Muhammad? Riiiight.

9:29. Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Some of you, Ephrem, yourself, and others, need to stop equating the two religions. You look like fools.

exactly the answer I would expect from somebody with a high school education. lol why are you here if you don’t want to explain any of your answers and learn a thing or two?

Which you had zero to do with, but still feel the need to bring up, whether it has anything to do with the topic at hand or not.

In the five years that Chushin has been posting here, this is about all he ever contributes.

Pretty sad, huh?

I’d go with the assumption. It’s misplaced anger, from someone too ignorant to look past stupid interpretations. I would venture to suggest that Muslims don’t care bout fighting the West, but as long as you find a silly reason to hate “them” so will “they”.

Look, a Muslim is no different a human being than a Christian. Both religions are used to illicit support for dangerous causes, yet as HH has pointed out the Catholic Church is a major player in the game of education and athletics. So is Islam. It forces the government to provide for their people. Religion is more than a militant force, and hating a religion just encourages hate.
