Is This the End of Roe v. Wade?

His first two Olympia wins he was still a police officer, though he had a lot of leeway to prep (according to his autobiography). After the second win, he went full time bodybuilding.

People in poverty might not be able to afford going to the doctor for prescriptions for birth control or an IUD. Also some religions shame promote contraception as a sin.

But mostly living in a country where people are afraid to go to the hospital due to tremendous cost.

Birth control is free. The visit is also free. You can be homeless and be on birth control. You might wash your pills down with puddle water, but you’ll have your pills.

IUD’s are expensive

This (at least in my area) is also un true and the hospitals are overrun by people with stomach aches and other trivial things

In regards to barriers, and including @Alrightmiami19c, I do agree one can get it for free. Depending on what you want, it isn’t always the easiest to get though. I don’t think it is unreasonable for a woman to want hormonal birth control. They are probably going to have to make an appointment and go to it to get that.

One of the areas where it isn’t so simple to get birth control is with teens and young adults. Their parents may not allow them to set up and go to an appointment to get it. They may get in trouble for possessing it.

I think there are solutions here. Perhaps giving it out free without an appointment. Perhaps more locations where one can get it.

In the case of contraception being unavailable, and there is no desire to have babies at the moment, wouldn’t a rational person abstain from having sex?

Unless it’s changed, in my area we have public womens health centers where anyone can walk in. A girlfriend in high school went without her parents and got birth control. Maybe that’s changed now though

TBH, I am not sure. As a guy I don’t deal much with birth control outside of condoms. I have heard it can be a hassle though at least in my area for certain things. I’ve heard the nuva ring thing has been tough to get lately at least around here (that’s why I may be doing a sperm test, that I mentioned).

I told my wife I may just have to take gratuitous amounts of MENT to be sure.

I did not realize that. Thanks Obamacare.

I think this is a common right wing talking point personally though I don’t know your area or the data on people going in in your area. Personally I know people who aren’t calling ambulances or going to the doctor because of cost.

Then we are back to that “well everyone needs to make good decisions.”

What part of a 15 year old in the backseat fooling around with a girl lends you to believe oh they will definitely be rational when biologically everything is saying don’t be?

Dude this stuff has been free for a long time. I’m definitely not an animal fan but I don’t think this is related.

The animals were a great band.

I don’t know the history but google says this “

The Obama administration’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandates that all health insurance plans cover women’s birth control, including surgery, and not charge a copay for the doctor’s visits or the birth control method prescribed.”

Of course that doesn’t quite spell out people without insurance though I’m not really in the mood to dig through all that.

I’m not either and people I know and associate with aren’t either. But I, nor the people I know are in poverty. The healthcare system is overrun with people who are in poverty and don’t have insurance coming in for anything and everything. Part of the reason I’m paying $1,000 a month for health insurance.

I think a good portion of the people who would be effected by the ban of abortions and the ones taking advantage of free health care are already in a state of poverty and abusing the system

We could get mad at poor people who maybe shouldn’t go to the doctor over something. I’m not saying that doesn’t happen (though I think middle class and wealthy will also do the same).

When you have health insurance companies making billions in profit I’m not sure I’d start with my premiums are high because that dude had a stomach ache and not stomach cancer.

I’ve personally sat in the hospital waiting room with two broke arms that looked like something off the movies, just all jello and disgusting looking. Waited 5 hours before being seen and given pain meds because the waiting room was full of people with stomach aches and head aches lol. Even had people with acid reflux going before me

Perhaps my brain is wired in such a way that leads me to think that considering these 15-year olds are not rational, I wonder why parents, particular a father, and possibly other male family members, would allow this to happen or at least not discourage it.

The amount of women who didn’t get into these positions, family members and others who had good influence on them, or if in the position acted responsibly.

Thousands of years of human history say no. Keep in mind it wasn’t that long ago when having sex with her husband was considered a wifely duty. It’s not like the man was going to have to take care of the child.

Let’s not look back in time with rose colored glasses. They had prostitution for example and all the abortions that went with that. Some women died relatively young because of the effects of having lots of babies.

We can talk about wholesome family values but they had child labor. They even brought children in from overseas to work. Young women worked, better to say slaved, in factories in MA. They weren’t living at home learning how to be wives and mothers.

I don’t. There has never been a time when life was without problems and mistreatment.
