Excuse my ignorance, but why Congress?
They have the actual correct methods to potentially address the issue.
Commerce Clause and pressure with the Spending Clause.
Which I am sure would lead to more Supreme Court review.
But, this is how the system is supposed to function.
I question the “federalism” that extends the reach of the Commerce Clause to the regulation of abortion…
Speaking of “regulate/d”…there’s a word I wish had not been used in the Constitution. Or, at least, had retained its meaning in common speech.
I do too, but the argument will be made without question.
It will be similar to Raich, which was a terrible decision. The basis for the entire war on drugs.
That and I wish Congress would have never been allowed to set their own procedural rules. That is the most glaring issue that has become a mistake over the years. I know why it was done, but man has it turned Congress into a shitshow.
No, pre 22 should not be murder cause it’s not a life. Regardless of the mothers intentions.
A “best fit” line needs to be drawn to allow for codification.
The right wing news outlets are making it WAY more of a thing than it would have been otherwise. I’ve literally only heard of pedophilia groups/organizations/whatever through far right media outlets. The left absolutely isn’t the side making it mainstream.
But yes, I agree that it is disturbing how much media like the Daily Caller wants to talk about pedophilia.
To preface: I don’t consider abortion murder unless the fetus is viable to live outside the womb… There’s plenty of time to make the decision to abort prior to this timeframe.
If I punch a 21-week pregnant woman in the stomach causing her child (which is now the size of a bell pepper) to terminate, that shouldn’t be considered murder? Even though babies can be born at 23-24 weeks and live (with NICU care)?
I have zero tolerance where harming children is concerned.
Convicted pedophiles and child abusers should get the death penalty.
It is a life but it’s not a person.
Yeah, not going to watch this one. Probably end up on a list.
I didn’t think that women could ever have ‘pedophile voice’ but this bitch has it.
It’s not a question of if a pedophile has acted out his/her thoughts, it’s a question of when. Hook them up to a solar powered guillotine (to appease the lefties) and be done with it.
She said we are responsible for our actions. That’s a problem?
Call someone by name and you avoid pronouns.
Are you really this dense or are you just a troll?
That isn’t what she said. She said it is our responsibility to overcome our negative feelings about pedophiles. I know this may hit close to home for you, but fuck that.
There’s nothing that enriches a conversation like someone who repeatedly disagrees with you in vague terms and one-liners.
That’s what these forums should be all about. If we’re ever to discuss the world around us, we need more vague language, malleable definitions, subjective interpretations and a total lack of clarity.
Not to get off subject. But I don’t really understand why some of the commenters here, mostly clear leftist, come to Tnation and almost solely respond in politics. I mean it’s interesting to me and on more than one occasion I’ve asked “why?”. Is this an interest in meat heads view of politics? I mean I’ve recently come to enjoy this sub forum myself but I like Tnation for the the fitness aspect which I believe is it’s purpose. I dunno I’m really not flaming I’ve just thought of this more than once.
Our old moderator Colucci started a thread pondering this very question, although he correctly kept it politically neutral.
That’s why I always put thought into my posts when @mnben87 or @flipcollar or anyone else who has talked training and shown training takes the time to argue against me. Of course, these actual T-Nation members also put thought into their posts, which makes for a better discourse.
I think being a meathead forum naturally does a good job of self-selecting people who at least know how to be serious about something. Throw in very low levels of forum censorship and moderation and you get a place where people can speak relatively freely and thoughtfully, and many here do just that.
That’s going to attract a certain percentage of people who have no interest in sharing the training aspect of their lives, if they even train anything at all, and instead…
shit post on PWI, I guess.
I don’t understand it, but I can observe it. Perhaps these are burner accounts for people with actual training identities here who don’t want to mix the two up. Perhaps these are people who don’t train at all but somehow, someway post here. Perhaps we have been conversing with increasingly sophisticated bots for years on end.
Who am I to know such things?
I dunno, I always enjoy your opinion.
Yes I should have left it neutral to open fair response. But I check/stalk some of the frequents to see what their interest are for shaping such opinions only to find it’s solely politics. I guess it’s mostly left that I look ergo my possibly mistaken reference.
Also though, Just wondering if Tnation had a good dialogue, exchanges, participants etc to maybe a political focused forum. There seems to be a lot of response garnered but I like to see the background, fitness wise, of the participants.
