I wasn’t talking about political parties.
I would be one his heirs and I don’t feel guilty. The point is, looking back from our perspective on things, genocide is evil. We can condemn the act but also understand the perpetrators in an historical context. Otherwise, we learn nothing from history. I doubt you would like it if certain human behaviors in the past that were completely normal, were still acceptable today.
Would you rather have these kinds of people focused on such utterly useless minutea like that, or focused on enacting real change in line with their beliefs? Lol. Let the nutters keep majoring in the minors.
I still don’t get the uproar over pronouns. Conservative America is used to married women changing their name, and they respect that change… A colleague changing pronouns is just as much of a non-event IMO.
They use stupid minutia like this to make other things they do not seem as crazy and to become slowly accepted.

Pronouns are an absurd form of deference.
Respect is a two way street and I believe it is disrespectful to demand other people upend normal language patterns acquired over a lifetime just because someone thinks they are special.
It would be just as absurd if I demanded other people use special language to match my internal notions of self with a word I made up 5 minutes ago.
And, to keep this somewhat on track, there is indeed a push to codify pronoun usage into law similar to Canada bull C-16. There are no shortage of people who would love to get people fired because they accidentally called someone with an Adam’s apple “he”.

I don’t think it is mainstream, but it even being out in the open at all is disturbing.
An ODU professor was arguing for it to be accepted. He was fired (thankfully). I don’t know all the various sects or groups in “we”, but a simple google search shows enough of them. They are out there.

So whether or not a pre 22 week fetus is a person should be solely judged on the intention of the mother to terminate her pregnancy or not? Can you see how that would be extremely difficult to legislate?

If the court would just take up a case that challenges Marbury vs Madison maybe we could upend the whole “judicial review” precedent that materialized. Would sure lead to a lot more…wait for it…Democracy.
