Wasn’t sure whether to put this in TRT or pharma, but since I’m increasing my dosage significantly above normal TRT levels, I think “pharma” is the appropriate forum.
Very experienced user/competitive athlete here. My goal is to use test alone to increase my strength before an upcoming competition.
Prior to SubQ TRT, I was doing IM injections. Half a decade of 200-1000mg, just blasting and cruising. I switched to SubQ because quite frankly, I was tired of the IM injections and tired of being so damn big.
I’ve been doing SubQ now for well over a year. 50mg twice a week puts my total serum consistently at 1,000-1,200 and my bio available around 35-50% higher than normal.
I have noticed I’ve had a decrease in strength, size, and athletic performance. SubQ has also significantly increased my estrogen as well.
Long post and I apologize. But now I’m thinking of instead of SubQ+IM, to just increase my SubQ to four shots a week of 500mg of test. I would have, on my personal experience, a 25-30 day wait before I felt anything.
Has anyone experimented with this? Or had anyone noticed a dip in performance on SubQ?
TL;DR
On SubQ TRT, thinking about doing four big SubQ shots a week for a brief cycle.
I luv subQ it’s painless.
IM is for guys who just like harpooning themselves. Kind of like getting a tat. Never noticed any difference in E2. So glad I found EOD and subQ
You noticed a decrease in strength and size when going from much higher test levels (blasting and cruising), to a standard TRT protocol. That sounds normal to me.
I never did IM, but if the TT and FT numbers are similar, why would there be any difference?
Alternatively, I have heard people say that they felt like they “got more” out of IM.
Evaluate your overall thyroid function by checking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky. Thyroid hormone fT3 is what gets the job done and it regulates mitochondrial activity, the source of ATP which is the universal currency of cellular energy. This is part of the body’s temperature control loop. This can get messed up if you are iodine deficient. In many countries, you need to be using iodized salt. Other countries add iodine to dairy or bread.

I can be a bit abrupt in my replies and recommendations. I have a lot of ground to cover as this forum has become much more active in the last two years. I can’t follow threads that go deep over time. You need to respond to all of my points and requests as soon as possible before you fall off of my radar. The worse problems are guys who ignore issues re thyroid, body temperatures, history of iodized salt. Please do not piss people off saying that lab results are normal, we need lab number and ranges.
The value that you get out of this process and forum depends on your effort and performance. The bulk of your learning is reading/studying the suggested stickies.
