Is it a waste of time?

Hey guys, just wanted to get some advice from the people who have been through it. My question is: Do you have to be a work out freak to enjoy the benefits of aas use? I work out, and I work out hard, but I also own a company. I am a work-a-holic in the office and look at bb’ing as more of a hobby and lifestyle. I dont have time to constantly be working out, or even thinking about working out. Am I wasting my time by using aas, and will it leave me with any gains.

Duck…quickly…

You still have to grow, so unless you are talking about hitting the gym one or two times a week, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I would think that 4-5 times a week would be good given your increased recovery (assuming you want to have maximal gains). I understand that owning a business is hard work and requires a lot of hours, but its not hard to make time for 1 hour 4-5 times a week if you manage your time well.

Lucid, thanks for the input. I still manage to hit the gym 5-6 days a week at 1-1.5 hrs each time. It just seems like all these guys are putting way more time into it than I. I appreciate any other comments you may have.

Comments like haktOne said, the self righteous dude, do not help this forum. If anything, they make it harder for beginners to want to ask questions, which may make them shy away, and do something without the guidance they need. Nice job a-hole.

1hr-1.5hr 5-6 times a week?!
Thats plenty if your lifting with good training economy and intensity. Eating enough may be an issue though.

LOL.

Yeah, I lift 4-5 times a week 1:15 tops while on a cycle. Are you sure you’re not overtraining?

Based on your first message, I was under the impression that you were lifting 2 times a week and doing it for “whatever”.

Sounds like if you get the right amounts of food and of sufficient quality you will make some serious gains.

Body building is a lifestyle. If you are not prepared to commit your life fully to it, which means changing your life to suit the lifestyle, perhaps this is not for you

pfft…if you need guidance to tell you that just juicing isn’t going to get you big then you need more guidance than this forum can offer. AAS means working HARDER so if you really want an answer to your question then no, it’s not for you. And if you’d have read ANYTHING on this site before posting this you’d already know that. So take your little rant about my being mean to poor ole little you and bring it with you to whatever gym/dance class you attend.

ROFL haktOne.

Yeah, what P-22 said.

Hakt0ne…Sweet dude, funny stuff.

I had read that thread about p-22’s pre-contest diet. That freaked me out. Thats some f-in dedication. Nice job bro, looking great, btw. I guess, I just answered my question myself. If I ever want to look like that, I’ll have to train and eat like he does.

P-22. how tight do you have to maintain your diet, after the contest? Will alot of your gains be lost if you let it slide a little?

I would say no. The majority of people on here do not live the bodybuilding lifestyle and if you want go ahead and call me a liar and then go look in the mirror just before you do. I got four kids, a wife, a home to take care of and lord knows what else. As long as you have time to go to the gymn and train and eat right and take the time to research what you are putting into your body then yes AAS can help you. There are two levels of body building. The ones that want to compete and the ones that just want to look good doing it. We both have our own ideas and opinions, mine just happens to be this. Enjoy your juice.

That is a good point, however the funny thing about roids is the placebo effect (even when on). I did a cycle about 4 years ago and I was like a pig in slop when in the gym then. Before, workouts seemed tough and I was glad when they were over, but when on the juice I wanted to lift all day long. Now I’m natural and want to lift all day long (which is good and bad I suppose) so I guess its attitude. I know as soon as I started seeing the strength gains after 2 weeks I was in the gym day and night and loving it.

Let me clarify on this topic, THIS DOES NOT MEAN any Joe just pick up the damn needle. It means somebody like me or I will use Drago as an example because I know him. We do it because we like to look good. We are both family men. We have both been training for some time. So don’t go thinking that I mean everybody because I don’t. I mean people that have been working out for a good few years that know (or think they know  ) what the hell they are doing. I assumed you fell into this category. OK.

Hey ru12nvme and Lucid, you guys are great. You guys gave me exactly what I needed. Its good to know that there are people like you out there, sluggin it out, and still rockin the gym. Thats all I really needed to hear. Thanks, bros.

Rock on.

Where you live in Michigan. I grew up there.

Some of us compete but the vast majority of people here train and use aas to look better. The lifestyle of a bodybuilder is one full of sacrifices. Frankly, it sucks at times and I personally have suffered as well as my loved one. Now, I train about 4 times per week when I’m not competing and 5-6 when I’m preparing for a competition. I still believe that nutrition and rest are more important than training. 4 times per week should be enough if nutrition and rest are done correctly.

Bro…I don’t want to sound like a grandaddy here, but I work at 4 different places and can still compete in BB’ing as well as fit in TWO training sessions a day. It comes down to motivation my friend. Lazyness is a lifestyle. Not implying that you are, but if you want to compete then do what you got to do. As far as your question. Depending on your age, increased Testosterone levels will help with your energy, focus, stamina, libido, prostate health and so on. So depending on your situation and circumstances, yes…anabolics can to a very limited degree be of benefit.
