Yes, Iran is the enemy. At this very moment, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is has arms, men, and materiel engaged in direct combat with US ground troops in Iraq.

Al-Quiada is a mere irritant and at present the main threats to US troops and objectives in the Iraqi theater are foreign fighters, most often trained and equipped by Iran, and Hezbollah, which is backed by Syria. There are of course the local insurgent militias, but, in Baghdad at least, these groups, Jaysh al-Mahdi (JAM) being the most powerful, are funded armed, and take direction from…Iran!
